Thanks to those of you that showed up for the CMU game. You were a classy buch of fans and have a very impressive team! Your offense was superb! We believe that CMU is coming back and hope to be near your level in the next year or so. Also, hope you enjoyed our little running back!
See you next year in Bowling Green!
Great BGSU fans

I really enjoyed our time in Mt. Pleasant. Very nice fans in the Family Lot and I appreciated the brats that were thrown my way. I like the stadium and how the one end is empty but the grass closes it in. The student section is also pretty cool when it is packed- like a mini dawg pound.
all bowling green
It's cool for the first 15 minutes of the game. Then once CMU starts losing the student "fans" start leaving. I know if I was on the CMU football team and saw all the students just start leaving when only being down 2 touchdowns, it would be rather depressing. That's showing the team hey, we don't think you can come back from this. While 99.9% of the time this is true, I think that team could be better with more support. For the whole first half, the entire student section was standing and cheering. I looked across the way only to see all the other CMU fans at the game sitting like they didn't seem to want to be there.Dayons_Den wrote:The student section is also pretty cool when it is packed- like a mini dawg pound.
I did like how the team came out and jumped up in the crowd before the game though. It was like a pre-mature TD celebration

Unfortunately, they leave when we are winning too! Thins under Kelly are changing, but we need to start beating some quality teams to get the students back. I know we are on the right track as we are a very young team! Good luck to you guys this week and the rest of the season![/quote]Then once CMU starts losing the student "fans" start leaving.

cmufan, thank you for all the positive comments. CMU is a fine school in a very similar community (in my mind) as BGSU. We have a lot in common and I wish you all the best- especially versus NIU this week! Hey, Jerry- this is your week to score.
We look forward to seeing you next year- even with Mr. Seymour.
Go Falcons!

CMUfan -- Thanks for the props on our crowd. BGSU96 & I made the trek up to Mount Pleasant and had a nice time tailgating with the FalconFreak90 in the Family lot. Most of the students who passed by were friendly. I was glad we parked in the family lot, though. That lot down by the closed end of the stadium looked like a zoo! Your student section was great when they were all there and making noise. You have a nice facility there and we enjoyed our trip. Good luck to your team and that little running back that we had trouble stopping (Jerry Seymour)! Something tells me a lot of teams will have trouble stopping him!

I totally enjoyed the whole scene at CMU on Sat. The weather was perfect (maybe a little more wind than was necessary), the facility was great, and the CMU fans were anything but hostile ---- at least where I was. In fact, and in spite of my brown/orange outfit, a CMU fan (and friend) invited me to tail-gate with the CMU cheerleaders and their parents. What a super group of kids/people. No one made an issue out of anything --- oh sure, they poked fun of my BG jacket, but mostly they just asked a lot of questions about BG, and about BG football. Cole Magner's name was mentioned several times ---- is this guy some sort of celebrity or what?? This was my first away game, and if they're all like this, I need to do more traveling.
Cole's celebrity status lies in his blonde locks. All the ladies love them from what I've heard. And unfortunately all away games aren't great but it really depends. People sometimes have bad experiences with places everyone else has good experiences and vice versa. The fact of the matter is, you are going to run into rude fans no matter where you go, it's just how the world is. With all the problems I've heard that people had at CMU, myself and a few other posters had an older man thank us for coming and say good game as he was driving out of the parking lot. It all depends on where you are at, what people walk past, and how much alcohol they have consumed.Dr. Bucko wrote:Cole Magner's name was mentioned several times ---- is this guy some sort of celebrity or what??
