I think it's an extremely close race but I voted for Liz. The way she dominates the paint has been huge for our defense's performance this year. She also has the ability to draw the other team's post presence away from the hoop but still score inside. She is the most unique player in the MAC by far.
Kate is a very close second and Ali is also right there. You could make a very convincing argument for any of the choices you put up there. This team is so well balanced it's scary.

Although not a player, I had to vote for Coach Miller. The recruiting and closeness of the team help make this team great. I'm not implying that Ali, Liz, Kate, Carin, or any of the others are not worthy of this title, but the team as a how is outstanding. There is not one ball hog or overly dominate player. They are a balanced team that is going to kick butt at the Q and in the NCAA. GO FALCONS!

Wow...what a tough choice.
I like the vote for Coach Miller. The guy has assembled an unbelievable staff that works their tails off. We all see the product on the court.
As far as a player, I'd have to go with Ali. She seems to be the emotional leader most of the time and I love her intensity and will to win. I think it affects the whole team.
I vote for the TEAM! LOL

The offense only goes when Kate goes....if she's out, we usually struggle to run effeciently..(nothing against Jazz, it's just the truth)
Ali is the biggest piece. Liz has had off nights, Ali really hasn't had too many.
I also thought Kate would get more love. She is the centerpiece of the offense, Liz is the defense, and Ali does everything well.
The funny thing is, Carin is probably the most talented. If she can improve her shot selection and stop reaching on defense, she could be the best player in the MAC next year.

And the best part about it? Every single player you mentioned returns next year. Gear up the hype machine...Jacobs4Heisman wrote:bg_bball wrote:Kate Achter is the most important, Ali is the most valuble

I'm with Saxy. Based on what I have seen of this team over the past couple of years, and in the three games I have been able to see this year, it is clear to me that Ali is the emotional bull dozer pushing this team forward. That girl simply as a will to win that I have never seen an athlete. That is why she got my vote.SaxyIrishTenor wrote:I gave it to Ali based on talent AND leadership.
That being said, I also agree with just about everything everyone else has said in this thread. We are lucky enough to have a player that could be considered an MVP at every position, and in many cases, were they at any other school, they would each be the outright MVP. This is such a special, special team that it boggles my mind that they haven't gotten more support from the BGSU community.
My suggestion? Call ahead to places like Frickers, Jeds and Ziggy Zoombas prior to MAC and potential NCAA tourney games (if you can't make it to either). Tell them that you want to watch the BG women's game, and then show up and let them know that you are there. Last year for our NCAA game vs. K State my parents and I went to Frickers expecting the game to be on because, hell, it is a Bowling Green team playing in a national tournament. The staff was kind enough to put the game on the big screen, but as soon as it came on all of the morons there to hedge their bets on irrelevent men's tournament games were yelling at the wait staff. My parents and I couldn't believe it, and my mom asked me if I was sure we were still in Bowling Green - it was embarassing. The uproar continued throughout the first half, and feeling bad for the staff, my parents and I went back to my house to watch the second half. The women's game was switched off before we had even paid our bill - that is how angry people were.
But after the lack of fan support that this team has gotten this year, I say screw 'em all. If people truly want to watch irrelevent tourney games in a bar setting, let them go to Toledo or Findaly where it doesn't matter. If there is a BOWLING GREEN team playing in ANY NCAA TOURNAMENT, it should be on every TV in every establishment in BOWLING GREEN. I say those of you that will be around during this game make that happen! I wish I could be in Bowling Green to do just that, but if I were going to go anywhere from Arizona to see the game, I'd probably just go to the game. Ehh...
But I think you know what I am saying...

I have to agree with bg_bball, Kate runs the our offense better than any pg in the leauge period. She may not score alot but she's also a very good leader as well as Ali who would be my very close 2nd choice too.bg_bball wrote:Kate Achter is the most important, Ali is the most valuble
