I think we need to hear a decision on Coach Dakich's future within the next couple of days. I think he should resign and if not, Mr. Krebs should relieve him of his duties, but I think it needs to be done quickly for the sake of the future of the program.

The wild card is Krebs' employment situation. Until that is certain, DD is the coach. If Krebs leaves, DD is the coach. If Krebs stays, then DD is 50/50.

In other words, DD is going to be our coach.

Call me overly mellow in this regard, but I'm not terribly distraught over that.

Is it possible to put some booster pressure on Krebs?

Any historians know the last time a coach's contract was bought out at BG? I'm not happy either, but everyone needs to get used to the fact that we have at least one more year of the Dakich regime.

It's going to be a wild offseason. Maybe Ali Mann could coach the team.

I'll have Happy Kikendahl give him a ring.

I liked that episode of Spongebob. :D He's excited about next year and hitting the recruiting trail tomorrow. Doesn't sound like a guy who is planning to resign. Damn!!!!! They talk about him graduating his players (the ones who stay - which isn't many) but the players who graduate tell kids NOT to play for him. Somebody in power has to see that something is terribly wrong at the top. Hey, do you think Dan is bi-polar? That could explain nice guy - bad guy!!!!!!!!

Buddy Powers?

Seriously, I fully expect Dan to be back next year.

I also expect to be deeply disappointed with that outcome.

Do you think, even if we have more kids leave the program, he'll be back?

Dan will be back next. How many guys leave won't be a factor. Especially if they leave in the summer like in the past--when its too late to get a new coach. I don't think you will see us make any move.

I'd rather see the assistant coaches coach the team next year and just let Dan stay home and collect his pay - I'll bet the team would do a lot better without him.

I sure hope that is not the case. I really hate that we will not spend the money to get him out of here. It really sends a poor message to the rest of the athletiic community. ...Go ahead run the program into the ground and do whatever you please if you want, afterall you are under contract.

I'm sorry but 125k is a small price for the longterm damage that is being done right now.

I like Dan and all but these last few weeks have been pathetic. I do know that most of the players played their hearts out every game and are tough. I also know alot of them cannot stand Dakich. I think I would give Dakich one more year though to see what he can do because frankly this season did not have much talent at all. We don't have the athletes or the scorers to compete for a MAC title. Next year I think we might. The '06-07 season will be key to the future of the BG basketball program.

Post game show.

The details: a sad team beating a horrible team.

Toledo is not a sad team. If you haven't noticed lately we are the hottest team in the MAC. With that said, I can't understand why DD didn't go to West Virginia. Can anyone answer that?

Watching him from an opponents point of view, I realized that DD hands are tied. Lets face it, bg has no bench. He can't go to the bench like other teams can. That does make it frustrating. However, with some of your posts, could it be his ability to keep players? I don't know.

See you all in the fall!
