Given the number of students that have gone and go to BG from Cleveland it would be a travesty if we had fewer fans there than Wisconsin. This is a great idea and a great promotion and I think that Falcon fans will be out in force for this one.

Okay. This is the last thing I"m gonna say:

ABC/ESPN won't give a hoot about the game.

:-D
Well, according to CFN, Temple's schedule is full except for 9/2 and BG is not listed. So Temple is out.

Alternatively, the Florida Atlantic Owls still have an open date on 10/21. Yippee. That would be a big draw to the Doyt in late October. :x

Kind of along the lines of "My magic 8-ball sez ..."

Temple again, eh? I wouldn't have suspected that.

I guess my question is...how do I get to be a "stroked donor" if you never hear of these events coming up.

Maybe it was getting comped for already writing the "big check"....no problem with that.

Admission, for me, was $40. I got an e-mail a week before hand alerting me about the event.

I suspect they had promoted the event well before then to certain people -- perhaps just in the Cleveland area -- but opened it up (with possibly cheaper tickets) at the last minute to fill the room.

Why did I get that last minute e-mail? It could be that I'm a season ticket holder or that I've donated (a relatively small amount of) money to the Sebo campaign.

I'm not in Falcon Club, so that wasn't it.

I got the e-mail and I believe a mail invitation and I'm in Rochester, NY. I assumed it was because of Falcon Club, but after 26 years of donations, I'm sneaking up the lifetime donor list.

The email I received was the E-Ziggy Zoomba Alumni News. I received it on March 2 and the event was March 7. Seems like kind of short notice to make a trek over to Cleveland.

Schad,
I received a mailer (postcard type, but VERY "jazzed up") several weeks back. Unfortunately, due to my dad's continuing stay and my responsibilites for him in a nursing home, I'd forgotten about it until this thread came up.... too bad, because my initial reaction was to go, no matter what.

First off, if the game is with Temple I will drive down to the MAC office in Cleveland and raise some hell!!! We continue to do the conference favor after favor and the only opponent they can find us is Temple. The same Temple we've put 70 points on the last 2 seasons!

Secondly, when exactly is The MAC or the city of Cleveland gonna start promoting this game against Wisky??? Very few people around Cleveland (my home when I'm not on campus) have heard about this game. If the media or someone promotes the game and builds it up, hypes it up, then there will be a big crowd. Getting the football fan from the Cleveland area that just loves the sport (and there are plently of them in Cleveland) will be key in attendence. I'm just hoping that sometime in next few months a big marketing campaign will be launched.

I think you will see a little more active promotion in the BG community once the full schedule is officially announced. If I remember correctly ticket sales to general public for the game don't begin until May 1. I would guess the timeline for ramping up the promotion in the Cleveland area would be about mid-July. I'd be willing to bet notices will be included in the packages for the Browns season ticketholders and active promotion during their 2 home preseason games in August.
