The Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.Com Challenge

Post by Salsa »

There's no better time to do this than right now when we're all feeling down in the dumps.

Let's establish an "Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com Challenge" for the BG Building Dreams Campaign. I'm willing to pledge $1,000 to get it started.

I've done a bit of research but need some help. I've tried to contact the Campaign and also Jane Myers of the Falcon Club but so far have had no luck.

I do know you can specify that a pledge goes to "Athletics" and do so "In Honor" to someone or something, e.g. the "Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com Challenge". It would be nice, though, if we had someone officially to help establish such a fund. Im not sure if they would insist upon a minimum goal for the fund. I'd think, though, that we'd be able to raise $50,000 over three years, maybe $100,000. Think about it--a $1,000 pledge over 3 years from 100 people would raise $100,000.

If we designated the money to go to the Sebo Center I think we could get some kind of recognition.

One way of contributing is to send money each month or so until you reach your pledge amount. And I think you can stretch this out for 3 years. If, for example, you pledged $1,000 the monthly payment would be just under $30 over a period of 3 years.

My thinking is that there should be no minimum pledge required. Maybe a "good" month would occasionally come along, e.g. an income tax return or winning a big bet on BG defeating Wisconsin and you can be generous. The point is you give what you can over the next 3 years.

I would really like to do this.

I think a noble idea...and one that I would participate in. Not sure how many others could or would join in...but curious to see.

Concept is along the same lines of donations (pledges) for seats that happens at bigger budget places.

Recent grad and I'm definitely not making a whole lot of money but I am willing to fork over some cash for the athletic dept.

I've already given to the Sebo so more is not in the budget for this year. I think it's a great idea though and should be given a lot of thought.

Salsa,
Quite some time ago, I suggested that AZZ band together to name one of the rooms/offices in the SEBO, that would put our name on that particular room....Got no response as I recall....have since pledged $1K to the Sebo "challenge" run through Falcon Club. I can swing the $200 bucks a year for 5 yrs., which isn't too bad.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
