Absolutely. Although, to be honest, the thought did cross my mind for a fraction of a second. BUT, that being said, let's keep the talk about the men's team out of the Women's forum. This thread is to congratulate the women's team and bask in the glow of the championship. The last thing we need is any of the men's forum drama bleeding over.
I, too, had a great time, even though I burned a large hole in my bank account. If I had it all to do over again, I would (and I'd probably shell out some more cash for a hotel room, rather than stay at Kent).
Thank you to all the BG fans that were there (and there were A LOT) for making it such a great experience. I've caught the Women's Basketball fever, and I for damn sure don't want a cure!
=)

Man, I really wish I had been smart enough to set the game to tape or at least ask someone. I'd love to watch it again, say, 1 or 10 more times. \:D/

I was looking at a bracket and Tulsa isn't a subregional, the subregionals are in Trenton, NJ; Norfolk, VA; University Park, PA; West Lafayette, IN; Denver, Tucson, Nashville, and Chicago

I was talking to Whitney's mom and dad after the game and she said that the general assumption is with Tucson, Arizona, or Salt Lake City, Utah. At least that is where the team wants to play.

That's an assumption. How much worse than Dakich could he possibly be anyway?
Assumption or not, I'd be offended as a woman if they moved him over. It's like saying the men's team is more deserving of a great coach than the women's team, like the men are more important. No way.

Forget Title 9 - that's just rude.

Why are we even talking about this?? We have a coach who is getting it done with the women. Now we need to find that person, whom ever it is, for the men's team. If I were him I would not move even if the job was offered. He is almost a legend here. If he goes to the men's team and does not fare as well how will he be talked about? It isn't worth the risk.

I don't know how reliable it is, but the ESPN Bracketology has the women going to Denver. Does anyone know how much stock can be put into that prediction?

FalconFreak90 ... great to see you at the games!

It was so satisfying watching our team blow Kent State off the floor! Once we had the double-digit lead at the half, I knew we were in good shape. I knew our team wouldn't have a meltdown like EMU did against them in the semi-final. I also thought it was great that Michelle and I ran into the clown who ran his mouth before the game. We'll be parked in front of the tube tomorrow night for the selection show! How about them Falcons?!?

That guy called us the thundering herd in his last prediction and has openly admitted that he knows nothing about or team.

So no, I don't put much stock in what he thinks. I even sent him an e-mail yesterday to let him know how Falcon Nation feels about being referred to by Marshall's "mascot".

I do agree, this is not the place to discuss whether coach would be a good mens coach. But I will say that it is totally a different game. Womens basketball is the purest form of basketball, and you really can do so much more basketball wise. The mens game is played on a different level with the guys being so much bigger. I have a friend that coached on the womens side, and always said that he couldn't wait to get back on to the mens side. He got that chance this year at another school, and he hates it. When you try to tell a girl something that will help them, and try to teach the game, they are more apt to listen. On the mens side, a lot of them look at you like you are stupid, because they have always been able to get things done with their athleticism. This is coming from him, not me. I don't know if Coach Miller would be a good mens coach, nor am I going to try to debate it. I just want to congratulate Coach and the team, and wish them well in the tournament. I am planning on coming up to BG this summer for a fraternity alumni get together, and I am hoping to set up an appointment to pick his brain. I love the way his team plays on the defensive end, and I think that with the kids I have coming back, and the ones I have coming in, I could really use his style next year. We also play a similar offensive style, and I am really interested in getting some of his thoughts on offense, and get some drills from him. Saturday was the first time I have gotten to see the girls in action, and I loved watching them play. I am really excited with the future of our program, and I really hope that coach stays for a long time. Again, congratulations to the team on their success, and I hope that it continues in the tournament.

Ah yes, I remember seeing that. The only thing that would insult me more is if he called us the rockets... :irk:
