I'm actually a little surprised Toledo didn't get in. Just a little.

I also thought we'd see at least one more MAC school in the NIT, I thought maybe we'd also see Ohio or Toledo in there. I like Miami's chances at a first round win over Akron's, but I'll be pulling for both of them (as well as Kent State) to win for the MAC. I really hope we don't see an 0-3 postseason showing for the conference.

Those tricky NIT people trying to renew the UC/Charlotte rivalry in the 1st round, then trying to bring Skip Prosser back to town in the second round, and I'm still pissed UC is in the NIT, they should be dancing not Air Force, Texas A&M or Utah State

After seeing BG get snubbed in 1997, 2000 and 2002, it's almost hard for me to actually feel bad for anyone that gets snubbed anymore. Let's face it, every year there will be several teams you could argue that should have gotten in over several schools that maybe shouldn't have. You can make a lot of cases either way for a number of schools. But with BG, yeah, maybe we shouldn't have gotten in for all three of those years, but certainly at least one of them. The only bit of feeling bad I can muster up anymore for schools that may have gotten snubbed is when it’s happened to a "mid-major" (their words not mine) or a smaller school. When it's a school that makes it in about every season, I could care less that they got left out one year because they'll likely get in the next season and they haven't been absent in the tournament since, say......1968.

I'll agree with you here, 33. Having watched Arizona for most of the year, and given the fact that Hassan Adams should have drank and driven himself off of the team permanently, Arizona has no business being in the tourney this year. But, instead, they get an 8 seed simply because they are Arizona and they have been to the tournament for the past 22 years. Please. And the funniest part is that people around Tucson actually feel slighted because Arizona is only an 8 seed.

Being a student here, I wish Arizona nothing but the best, but they simply aren't that good this year.

Bingo. And Kent State got jobbed worse than us one of those years.

If Hassan Adams was permanently kicked off the team, I would agree with you. But if you look who Arizona lost to, compared to others, you would think twice about excluding them. They did lose a couple times to average (at best) teams, but the losses on their schedule were to teams like UCLA, UNC, UConn, Washington, etc.. An 8th seed? Probably not that high. A 10 would have made some sense.

Cincy has a better resume than some of the teams that got in, but they were not even one of the last teams on the bubble from what I heard. Personally, I don't feel one bit off sorrow for them...they lost 12 fing games, they don't deserve in the dance, IMO. If you lose that many games you lose all right to bitch, because you put your fate into the committee's hands. Win some games and make them have no choice.

Although I am a little disappointed because it hurts my ability to accurately predict my bracket. Have Cincy lose early is a good rule of thumb to ensure at least a couple correct games :)

Cmon hammb, that doesn't make any sense. Losing 12 games, they don't deserve in the dance? So now there is a cutoff? 11 losses and you're in? Cinci. had a beef compared to Air Force. They played in the best conference, and had some big wins.

Arizona, had 12 losses. But the losses weren't bad losses, at least compared to teams like Seton Hall, who had 11 losses. Seton Hall lost to Duke by 53, UConn by 42, and to Northwestern by 2 at home.

My point, you can't just throw out under 12 losses as the point where teams are allowed in.

I never said anything about being let in with more or less than 12 losses.

My point is that if you lose that many games (a destiny you control) you lose all right to bitch when the committee doesn't put you in. Just like how we don't have a right to bitch when we get snubbed. We know going into the season that our only real chance to dance is to win the conference tourney. If we fail that, then we should not be surprised when we get snubbed. Cincy knows they have an entire season to build a resume. If they lose double digit games they don't have a right to complain, IMO. If they play better they get in.

Cincy finished eigth in the Big East and lost in the first round of the conf tourny. I think those two fact really hurt them. I also think the size of the Big East conference hurt them. When you have so many decent teams, somebody has got to fall to the middle of the pact. And the committee has to be hesitant to put 9 teams from one league in the dance. If Cincy had played in C-USA this year, they probably win 4 or 5 more games, minimum, and are a lock for the tourny.

I won't cry that Cincy didn't get in. They never make it past the 2nd round anyway. They didn't derseve it this year and one thing I'm happy about is the committee left them out.
