But I must say that this comment was a little disappointing: "I come from the MAC, so the Mountain West looks like a BCS conference to us."
I agree WH...that statement certainly doesn't sound good.

I wish the Krebs family nothing but the best. He did an outstanding job for BGSU and now it's time to get another great AD. GO DR. RIBEAU!!!

Best of luck of Paul and I know that being nearer to your family will improve your quality of life.

Mr. Krebs has been an incredible asset to BGSU and he will be missed. I understand 100% why he is leaving and I do not blame him one bit. I wish him and his family all the best.

I trust that Dr. Ribeau and staff will find a worthy replacement and the athletic program will continue to prosper under new leadership.

yeah, I just found that comment, too.

I still wish him luck, but a line like that comes awfully close to Mrs. Meyer's husband territory. Why the slap in the face, Paul? I can go out and buy a puppy real quick if you want to kick him, too... :?

That was a boderline dickish thing to say. Why not just say "the MWC has facilities and athletic and educational opportunities on par with BCS conferences" instead of taking a shot at us?

Exactly, Flip. I hate to bash him for a quote in the paper, especially with all he's done to get BG athletics back on the map, but if one of the leading flag carriers for the MAC is going to come out and say crap like that, what chance does the conference have?

Just speculation - maybe that comment had something to do with how the MAC has treated BG athletics recently? (late first home FB game last year, forced PPD of Boise State game this year, forced switching of divisions back-and-forth) - maybe it's a shot at the conference itself as opposed to the individual schools?

Maybe it was not an actual quote but something the reporter put together (I've had this happen to me).

If that's the case, and the reporter put it in quotation marks, he deserves to be put on the Packer-Nantz ship to the sun.

According to the Blade, Krebs met with the Albekwerkey media after his visit and that is where the comment was made.

I saw that quote this morning too and thought the same as many of you. I wish him the best of luck and all, but I could have done without seeing that comment made. :?

At least he didn't say it's every boy's dream to be the AD at New Mexico.

Why does everyone have to take shots at BG after they leave? Meyer, Beckman, and now Krebs? Say it ain't so Pauly.

Krebs didn't take a shot at BG. Krebs is a BG product. Some of you need to quit being so damn petty.

If the quote is accurate, he absolutely did take a shot at BG, along with every other school in the MAC.
