Road Trip Plans

Post by Jacobs4Heisman »

It might be a good idea to keep meet-up ideas in a single thread.

Today's a pretty good day to be alive. I'm on call this weekend, but screw it -- I'll find a way to make it work. I just found out that the woman has a cousin that graduated from Purdon't and still lives in West Lafayette. If he has high speed, we'll be staying with him for free. If not, we'll be staying at a local hotel that offers high speed. Looks like I'll be a mobile support center this weekend :)

If anybody needs it, I'll have two car spots available from Wauseon to West Lafayette. Wauseon is about a 45 minute drive from BG. PM me if anybody needs a ride. We'll be leaving Saturday morning sometime.

Does anybody know of good local places where Falcon fans can gather Saturday night for some pre-game?

if you all make it to the sweet 16, I hope there is a huge crowd in Cleveland for BG...I hate UNC...saw them play once this year at Duke, man I can't stand Latta, even tho she is a player...I got a friend who plays for them, but you all gotta knock them out.

I think The Niz, a couple of buddies and I are leaving Saturday nite and staying in a cheap hotel. I'm pretty sure we've got a full car. I don't know yet if I have to work Sunday or not, but I proably won't. Even if I do, I think I might be "sick". Shoot, how often will I honestly be able to go to a NCAA Tourney game?? See ya'll

Doesn't Coach Brandon's son go to Purdue? If he hasn't graduated yet, maybe some of you can look him up and stay with him.

I don't know all of the specifics yet, but I do know that I will be going with a group of band kids to the game. We're waiting on word on what the Athletic band is doing, but we should have at least 4 or 5 of us going.

Last year the band went to Washington (on the NCAA's tab I think, don't quote me). I really don't see why the band wouldn't go to West Layfette. Logisticlly it's a much easier trip and I would assume cheaper too (I must confess, I've never priced a trip for 50 bando's). Personally, I sincerely hope the band goes. Having a band at a game is part of what makes college athletics special. Either way, hope to see you there!

So far, my plans are as such:
A friend and I will be driving out EARLY Sunday morning (because we're too cheap to shell out cash for a hotel room), and driving back after the game.
We are planning on trying to leave around 8, so that we can get parked, get settled, and soak up the experience.
I'll talk to him about it, but we may be able to have some people tag along if anyone is interested.
We'll be leaving from BG.

As far as I know, the band will be there. The band kids I was talking about are the ones either not chosen or not in Aband this semester. The whole reason we're waiting on the band is to see if we can stay with them at their hotel or not. We're not sure if they will drive in Saturday or just Sunday morning. But regardless, I'll be there cheering on our girls to victory over the Bruins!

THe band will be going. The NCAA requires that we bring 50 band members. It seems odd, but they give us the number of band members, cheerleaders, and only one mascot :(

Nope! We are allowed only 30 people, including personnel.
