I don't see why it would be a big deal to anyone on here. He can't see the floor for a PG and can sometimes defend is what I've taken from the general concensus here.
Just adds to an opposing school's (MAC, etc..) ability to recruit someone away from BG.

But everyone mostly says he's no good, so why care? I am disappointed if he's leaving but most on here haven't had much good to say about him the last 2 years.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The disturbing trend of losing player after player from the program (even if they are homesick), gives another edge to any MAC school from being able to sway a HS player that are considering BG and their school. Like it or not, negative recruiting exists and each competing school with BG can use this data to show a kid that maybe BG isn't the place to be.

Moon is a stout defender, who unfortunately struggles on the offensive end.

At this point, however, I don't believe anybody is addition through subtraction. We've suffered so many transfer losses (in some cases thinking we'd be better off) it has crippled the program. Now it is time for some continuity and actually building a program. Losing players who played major minutes is not going to help that cause.

I don't want anyone to transfer, and that includes everyone from Floyd to the guys on the end of the bench.

Ditto. I think we've proven that addition by subtraction is a flawed approach.

I think it is a flawed approach only when you try to do it every year. At times it can be good. But that is once every 5-8 years times. Not once every 5-8 months.

As of now he's going to gut it out and try to finish up a Falcon (don't hear that much anymore). If he has surgery, he's done. He's been working with some people from the Denver Nuggets on his feet problems.

Yeah I heard that Moon is out. I guess instant messenger away messages is the way to announce your final days as a mens hoops player at BG.

What a tool. He's a loser. Bon voyage, Moon. Have fun at D-II.

When I read the bottom of that article I get the feeling Moon is essentially saying, "I have no idea where I'm going, but I just want the hell out of here."

Ugh...

I'm waiting to voice my opinion until I actually see WHY he left. Calling him a 'tool' or saying 'I just want the hell out' is out of line. Unless you know something that I don't, this article says nothing. He is transfering. Plenty of people don't know where they are going after they announce they want out. There could be family reasons, personal reasons why he wants to transfer.

I'm getting tired of athletes worming out on their commitments. They should be made to pay back part of their tuition for not fulfilling their agreement. Just saying these are kids is not an excuse. At some point these people need to be held accountable for their actions and honor their committments. So, in my book, he's a tool.

Oh give them a couple days to concoct a story. My guess is that Moon is unhappy with his role or something this time. They played the homesick card a couple times in the last year already, so I think they'll go with something more creative. He's not as good of a player as Lewis so I don't think we'll see the NBA mentioned. Has anyone in Moon's family suffered any sort of tragedy in the past 3-4 years? They could use that one again, but they used it just this past summer.

I think the odds are likely going to unfold as:

Disgruntled with role/playing time pays 3-2
Homesick pays 3-1
Family member tragedy 9-2
NBA prospectus 25-1

Anyone wanna put some money up before we get the final word from the team/coach?
