I expect Jacobs to go between the 2nd and 4th round & nobody else to be drafted. All of them will likely be able to get UDFA contracts if they desire.

what about pipekow? now i know he wont get drafted because of such a deep LB class but, what about getting a look as an UDFA?

I'm with hammb on this. We'll only have one Falcon drafted this year. And honestly, I'd be surprised if anyone is on an NFL roster when the season begins. It hurts me to say that, but that's my take.

Very little chance that a team drafts Jacobs and then he is not on a roster come Camp. If he gets drafted high enough, he will be a project no matter what and they will give him atleast a year as the 3rd QB to test him.

It is a rarity for a team to draft a QB and not give him atleast the year they drafted him to work things out. It happened to Josh Harris but they only had 2 qbs on the roster.

Pretty sure that '87 meant nobody other than Jacobs will be on a roster come opening day. I am inclined to agree with him.

PJ might stick with the right team...had he not been hurt this year, I think he couldv'e been slotted around the 3-4 round. Good speed, great hands, north/south runner....I think he'd be a good situational (3rd down) back.

I really don't think the rest of the guys have much of a shot at sticking unless they can pare some time off their 40's (Sharon and Sanders) or grow an inch or three (Jelani)

Thanks for clarifying my thoughts, hammb. That's exactly what I meant. That's what happens when I don't get my fourth cup of morning coffee. :?

I thought you were making the bold statement that Omar would get cut.

By the way I think both Jelani and Teddy will be in a camp. Guys with production always get invites.

I find it hard to beleive we were so bad and will have 1 player drafted for sure and 6 signed to CFA deals. Maybe I am over exageratting their ability.

I still think there is a slight to decent chance Pope get's drafted. He can catch the ball well out of the backfield and has good measurables:

5'9 1/2, 218 (bigger than Brian Calhoun)
4.49 and 4.51 40 (decent straight line speed)
36 1/2 vertical (quite good)
22 bench presses at 225 lb. (good strength)
4.06 in short shuttle
6.69 in 3 cone drill

FWIW, I'm not saying he's better than Calhoun. But I do think he has a decent chance at getting drafted in the 7th round. All it takes is 1 team to like him.

Pope's also a very football smart guy. We really missed his blocking while he was injured. He just always seemed to be in the right place.

If Pope got a look, I think he could be Chester Taylorish in time.

If he ran well, I would bet he gets drafted. You are exactly right about his blitz pickups and overall blocking plus he was a great receiver out of the backfield sometimes making very nice downfield catches. THe only thing that i think a team looking for a 3rd down back might be looking more for is shiftiness and return ability.

Even more important, is how well Pope could handle special teams. Get drafted in the 7th round, be able to have some type of impact on special teams or the chances of surviving is slim.

ok whoever thinks teddy p is gonna be invited to a camp is just freakin stupid and never really watched the games. the guy was aweful. he's the softest linebacker in the world and the only reason t-white didn't start over him the last 2 years is because they kept moving him around so teddy p cud play since he went boppin for the coaches. didnt anybody watch the wisconson game??? bernstien lit him up once and teddy said no thank you the rest of the game. i for one am happy as hell that he is gone because he was just holding our defense back and holding some good talent back like adrian baker.

What vitriol! Work on that spelling before calling others "stupid".
