And I like this new ticket exchange thing.
Both of those are very nice extras (also first dibs on Tickets for UT game as well). I am buying 2 season tickets. My wife might use hers once, twice at most so to get an extra friend in at another game seems like a good idea.

PGY Tiercel wrote:Looks like the marketing department came up with a great idea. Reduced seasons tickets for recent Graduates. Only 39$ for a season ticket (can purchase up to two). Less than 10$ a game. Hopefully recent grads will take advantage. I'm assuming anyone graduating in the last 5 years is a recent graduate :D

Unfortunatly it does say that there are 4 home games :(

That's interesting. UT started offering a similar promotion for discounted season tickets to recent graduates last season. Not sure how well it went though, as the seats were for something like the 10-20 yard line.

The announcement didn't say anything about if they were only for certain sections. Guess I'll find out when I call and order.

I went ahead and sent in my check for our 4 season tix and the Wisky tix. With 4 season tix, that gives me 4 free Wisky tix which I know my parents and some friends would like to use.

I will be extremely ticked if we don't get another home game. 4 games at the Doyt outta 12 would blow big time...especially with the teams we have coming in (except Miami). I agree with the folks that vented frustration at the MAC and Ohio. Why is BG always willing to "help" the MAC and other conf teams first????
We MUST protect our own interests first, no matter what.

At any rate, it was quite a chunk of change for the tix and I still have to get OSU, UT, Ohio, CMU and Akron tix yet. Mrs Freak was a bit concerned about the possiblity of quite a bit of jack for tix this year...and rightly so.

GO FALCONS!!!!

CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT!!

Any chance that Boise State threatened dropping the remainder of our agreement if we did not move the game for them?

If so, we may have used the helping out the MAC thing as an excuse to not make the us or the MAC look like it was getting screwed again.

That's possible, but I don't think that story looks nearly as bad as the one we've been told so far especially if it ends up with us losing a home game this year.

With your story, at least we could say we had no control of the situation given Boise could have canceled unilaterally if they paid us the contract penalty. The current story involves us agreeing to cooperate with the MAC and OU, instead of putting our foot down when we held the cards.

Right, I assume if the correct story was to blame Boise, we would have done that.

Blame Canada!!!!

After the 2005 team's disappointing season, the collapse of men's basketball and the one or two backward steps the hockey team took this year.....I'm not sure sticking us with a home schedule of EMU, Buffalo, Kent and Miami is a wise route for the the athletic department to take.

I suspect there would be no trouble putting these ticket holders between the 30s, at least on the east side. I haven't been a season ticket holder that long, and I'm right on the 50 on that side.

I'm now puzzling over this order form.

I'm shocked they didn't note "fifth opponent to be announced." But the pricing seems to reflect four home games.

The news release from the athletic department seemed pretty clear: We will have a fifth home game with a I-A opponent. And they haven't taken any steps to correct that news release that I see.

I guess I'm still operating under the assumption that we will have a fifth home game, and a little confused about what the ticket office will do after we send our orders in.

What is so "confusing" about the form? It says we will have four home games and based on the prices why would you think differently. We have to have the cheapest tickets in the world and for some people that still is not good enough!!! Toledo charged $125 for their season tickets last season and the home games were 1-AA W. Illinois, WMU, EMU, Buffalo, and NIU. The BGSU ticket office set prices at most for $75 and that includes Wisconsin if you renew on time, plus you can buy tickets to the OSU game. What more can they offer you than a limo ride?

BTW, does anyone know how much OSU tickets will be?

I think OSU has announced that their tickets next year will be $62 or so. Although I believe I read that before they had NCAA penalties to pay.

My OSU tix will be $0, thanks to a sweet deal my father-in-law has worked out with a retired OSU alum that resides in Florida. :D
