Lady Falcons lose 61-74....

Post by Falconboy »

Not a great shooting day for us by any stretch, but to keep the game under 15 with that kind of shooting from a team like UCLA makes me hungry for next next year even more. One home game in particular I'm siked for is our Indiana Lady Hoosiers coming Anderson. We need 3,000 for that one. Well , we are plain and simply loaded for bear next year and 3rd straight Mac Champioship is very attainable as well as another NCAA Tounrament berth.

Tough way to end such a glorious season but man, that UCLA team can SHOOT! Willis & Quinn were just too much. BG never quit and I am so proud of the effort int he 2nd half. Most teams would have mailed it in but this team did not. I was going crazy when we got within 5 but just could not get over the hump. UCLA is a very talented team...very. Their athletic ability is excellent. Should be a great game between UCLA and Purdue Tues night.

BG WILL be back...even hungrier in 2006-7. Congrats to Coach Miller, staff and players for such an excellent, exciting season. 28-3, most wins EVER by a MAC team. It was great to see Jill Lause score there at the end. Thank you Jill and Casey for all your hard work and being such important parts to this team and program. You WILL be missed next year.

As for the rest of the team? Jack it up and let's roll again next year.

THANK YOU TEAM!!!! CONGRATS ON THE BEST MAC SEASON EVER!!!

UCLA did shoot very well. I don't believe I have seen a group of 3 players from a team perform that well... I'm proud of our ladies and I can't wait for next year...

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Just got back from the game. RATS! Let me tell you, UCLA knew they were in a game. They came out laughing and stylin' and they very quickly had to get down to work.

We gave them a game....they had to earn it and they did. Such sweet shooters in #40 and #45. We kept Blue well in hand.

Freak- once again your wisdom has said it all. We A-L-M-O-S-T made it back, but juuuuust couldn't get that last needed stop.

I thnk we got a close location and a tough team. And we have a team full of class. They played hard and represented well.

Coach acknowledged the fans as they left the court. We had a good VOCAL group.

Can't wait for next year either, maybe Falconboy will learn to spell by then.

Great Season Falcons!!!

It was sad to see us not get a win in the NCAA Tournament, but this team still had a great season and made a heckuva run this year. They had about as good of a season as a team could have in the regular season and conference tournament play. The exciting thing is, this team returns a large core of players next season as well and hopefully they can pick up where they left off next year. If they do, another MAC title and conference championship with an NCAA appearance will be in order. Great season Falcons!

What a great season these ladies had! Couldn't be more proud to call myself a former Falcon while watching today's game. Everytime BG started to make a run UCLA would hit shots that just killed the rally. I know as a fan it was frustating as hell, I can't imagine what those girls were going through. Great job ladies!! Can't wait to see what happens next year!

You're still a falcon.

What a wonderful season and I'm very proud of these girls, coach, and fans.

Congratulations to the team on a great season and a post season berth.

I was amazed by how well UCLA shot the ball in this game. How this team is only seeded 5th, I really have no idea. If they get past Purdue, they're going to give North Carolina all they can handle. You could see that the effort was there from all our girls and that we fought our hearts out. It just wasn't there today, particularly from the outside. It's hard to win when your opponent shoots well from deep and you don't.

I'm just a little bit discouraged about the result. If a team that went a perfect 19-0 in the MAC and was arguably one of the best teams in conference history can't win one game in the NCAA tournament, what does that say about our conference? Not much. It's not our fault that our schedule did not provide enough tough competition this year, but its clear that our creampuff schedule did not help us today. It looked like we got flustered when they hit some threes early on, and we weren't as strong to respond once we got behind. I wonder if we would have gotten behind by so much if we had played more tournament-caliber teams this season, I say probably not. Oh well, what are you gonna do? The girls had an awesome season, and its just too bad that it had to end this way.

Can't blame the girls for the lack of an out of conference schedule. Let's hope we learn from this and hopefully strengthen the schedule a little bit.

Sure, the MAC isn't the greatest conference. But you can't put it down b/c we faced a very good UCLA team today. Without such a slow last 10:00 of the 1st half, we are neck-to-neck with a great team. We need to schedule more "quality" teams, and I'm sure Coach Miller knows that. To get these schools to play you, you gotta be a winner.....and we've shown over the past years that we can play with good teams. That's why you're seeing Indy and ND coming here next year, it's just like football...who gets the Wisconsins and Boise's on their schedule now with the recent winning seasons.

YES WE DID!!! I've had a couple of people tell me that they heard me starting a BG-SU chant a couple of times during the second half. I knew I had a loud mouth, but from where I was that's kinda impressive (if I don't say so myself)

Ok, enough ego stroking...Good game. Tough hard loss. I don't think we have anything to be ashamed of. I'm proud to have been wearing orange today.

I don't know what all has been said, (I'm still shifting through all of the threads) but the crowd was totally fantastic. Despite the huge arena that liked to suck up sound, we still managed to make enough noise to rival Anderson. It was great to see that the crowd never really got down on the team, even at the end when things were looking grim. Just one more reason I love being a Falcon!

Great job this season ladies! I'm sorry I didn't see more games, but the ones I did were fantastic (even todays!) Hopefully next year will be better than this year, and I'll be able to make it to more games! Once agian, great job, and GO FALCONS!!!!
