If we're gonna keep it in honor of Harold Anderson, I like "Arena" (the "AA" just flows..)

However, if Big Nate's BBQ takes off in the coming years, I have no problems with ribs served in the concourse of the "Thurmond Fieldhouse"

Whatever the hell this thing ends up being, we definitely need a Big Nate's BBQ counter in it. It would be cool if Big Nate even showed up once in a while.

I'm hoping to see a BGSU gift shop similar to that at Kent.

Furthermore, I'd like to see some things that make it easy and fun to bring kids to games. My 4 year old actually likes basketball, but getting her to sit thru a full game is a tall order.

I'm guessing Anderson's name is not gonna go on the new building, considering:

-- someone (or some corporation) will certainly lay out at least a little cash to put their own name on the thing.
-- Anderson Arena will probably still be there to be used for *something*, much like Eppler Gym remains with us.

Of course, this may be out of all of our hands. If (hyopthetically) Marathon decides it wants "Marathon Center," and puts up enough cash, then "center" it will be.

I'm partial to "Fieldhouse" and "Hall." These are old-school, Indiana-type names that would be a sort of nod to the zen of Dan Dakich -- who, admittedly, may never actually coach in the thing.

Since we, as fans, enjoy whipping dead horses in regards to the basketball team, I vote for manége.

Do you think a "terrarium" would work?

Too confusing since we already have a fieldhouse. It's hard enough getting people to go to the games w/o them going to the wrong place just because of the name! :?

And it doesn't really fit. It won't be housing a field.

And remember that the building itself will have a name and then probably the arena will have a completely different name.

irrelevant (one parks on a driveway and drives on a parkway).

A field house is defined as: "A building having one or more areas for different athletic events and usually grandstands for spectators."

There is a large agricultural products firm in Maumee, Ohio that might want to cough up some cash for the new building. That would resolve the name thing AND get the necessary dollars. ;-)
