Former BG players, 1991-1992

Post by FormerFreddie »

My brother was at the Dayton regional this past weekend at struck up a conversation with a guy wearing a George Mason shirt who said that he used to play at BG for two years before leaving the school. The time frame was 1991-1992. Can anybody figure out who that could have been?

Trying to think of guys who only played two seasons around that time, only Steve Watson and Jason Crump come to mind.

Those years are right in my wheel house. I am assuming that since you are guessing Dr. Watson and Crumpy the gentleman was pale complected.

I would guess Watson since I know that Crump is in England. Watson would also make sense at Dayton because before his current role as associate AD at EMU he was in the athletic marketing dept. at UDayton.

Or I suppose it could have been Joe Bair. Or Brad Morrison. Or Jason Hall. But I would go with Watson.

I thought Watson came late to BG and played through his senior season? I could be wrong.

The player was pigment-challenged.

Vada Murray? I think he is from Dayton, if I'm correct. Originally.

Jason Hall would be my guess. He played two years.

Did you see anyone in a BG hat? They might post on here.

Watson transferred in to BG after lettering two years at Rutgers. Jason Hall didn't exactly leave the program in a good manner therefore I wouldn't expect him to be in good graces to go support Coach L, but I could be wrong.

Not sure who "Vada Murray" is- Vada Burnett played four years, Phil Murray played two and transferred out , but both of those players don't meet the pigment requirments put out earlier in the thread. . .

More info from my brother:

"I don’t know much about him. He is white, a few inches taller than me (so around 6’6” or 6’7”). He said he played only the ’90-’91 and ’91-92’ seasons at BG, then he transferred to Mt. Vernon Nazarene. He lives in Ohio now… I think the place he mentioned is somewhere in the western half of the state, though I can’t remember the name of the town. That’s all I know…………"

Right, Vada Burnett. Guess my Michigan football history name came into play.

Larranaga could get some good recruits.

Morrison played at BG during the 88-89 season. Watson was here 88-89 and 89-90. Don't know how I remember this kinda stuff given all the drinking I did back then.

dduncan, you're all mixed up. :smt101 :smt101 :smt101 There was no Vada Murray. There was a Phillip Murray from the mid 90's, but he was stocky, 6-7, and not white. There was also a Vada Burnett. He was 6-1 and not white. He also stuck around for all 4 years.
