.MRS. TURNER? if you are referring to Anthony's mom you are incorrect and she is not Mrs. Turner and this is not her! I am simply stating my opinion and trying to let these people that are just running thier mouth realize that they should stop and think about what they are saying before they just start to sound ridiculous. Both boys have already been punished by the football program. The situation is over with so why continue to dwell on it. Major mistakes have been made, you live and you learn and deal with it. If Turner and Patrick could take it back they would in a heart beat but guess what you can not rewind time so you just have to look at the future and try to look positive at the situation as much as you can. They ***** up.. Its over and done with and time to build from that whether it is the team, players, coaching staff, fans. Learn from their mistakes and watch them become better men and players because of it
The OSU Player in question, Eric Haw, was a freshmen this past season. It was predicted that he would compete with Antonio Pittman for playing time. Tressell doesn't necessarily "suspend" players like some coaches do, but he does curtail their playing time and force them to work their tail off to win back the respect of their teammates. Case in point is Troy Smith. He did a lot of extra running before and after practice. Got his head out of his ass and his teammates respected him for his efforts.PGY Tiercel wrote: Another ineresting paragraph in the article is near the end about the OSU player. The writer mentions that player only getting a managment class and periodically evaluations. Almost like trying to lead readers to believe that these two knuckleheads shouldn't get any sort of suspension or team punishment.

I'm attempting to express, in words, my disappointment in some fans. Are we really arguing moral relativity? GADS!
"It's not wrong if you don't get caught." Unbelievable. We best buy a bunch of window cleaner for the glass house we've erected ourselves.
AT should stay on the team but he should be punished....even if found "not guilty." My take? Just because person is "not guilty" doesn't mean they are innocent. Think about that.

Go right ahead, rip these kids apart. Tell them they're worthless, they should be kicked off the team, scholarship taken away, and then publicly executed in front of the Student Union! Come on people. I'm not saying what they did wasn't wrong. But anyone who thinks that getting caught smoking pot should be kicked off the team or suspended a year is blowing things way bigger than it needs to be. There will be, if not already, a swift punishment. I'd be willing to bet a one game suspension and if not I'll be disappointed. An internal problem could be taken care of with running or being broken off in the weight room. However this is in the public's eye, and if it gets to that point then suspension is needed. First offense, one game. Now if AT or the other kid turns into Ricky Williams and does it again then we've got a huge problem. This is something that is easily moved on from. Neither should be held out of any spring practices, or 2 a day practices. Punishment fits the crime, and no more, no less than one game is acceptable in my eyes. Lay off the kids, everyone makes mistakes, some more than others. No one on this board will ever have anything to do with how Coach Brandon runs his program b/c it's HIS program. He doesn't come into your homes and tell you how to punish your kids when they act up. So while all of you calling for AT's head sit faceless hiding behind a computer screen think of all the times you messed up, or are you perfect and have never done anything illegal in your lifetime? For crying out loud. They will be punished, end of story. Lay off.

I don't think anyone is suggesting this. And if you knew your Falcon history you would realize that that sort of severe action has not been taken since the 1957 incident, whihc received a lot of bad press at the time, although most of it was not about the execution itself but more about the horrible, drawn out, cruel way in which it was accomplished. Pretty much everybody agreeed the four kids had it comingBG SBall Fan wrote: they should be kicked off the team, scholarship taken away, and then publicly executed in front of the Student Union!
I was talking to my friend who goes to Ohio Northern. He says to me:RideORDie wrote:BG SBall Fan:
THANK YOU! Finally someone can see that anthony and ryan arent criminals they simply messed up and are learning from it. Bottom line. There is nothing more to dicuss about the siutation. It is over.
Friend: "I hear about your QB."
Me: "Which QB?"
Friend: "The one who smokes pot. Is that BG's thing now?"
Anthony Turner is a representative fo the University and this weekend he let down every member of the University community.
Ask Frank Solich if he thinks the drunk driving charge is "over." Everywhere Turner goes he's going to have students from other schools throwing around choice words so he better get real used to hearing it.

Good Grief!!!!!
Gosh, you'd think these numbskulls full of mush would learn from your misdeeds Matt. What will it take for these kids to learn. Do you want to smoke pot or play Div1. Football? Is it really that hard of a decision to make? I don't think so.
I don't think a year suspension is needed at all, but some serious and strenuous extra hard workouts in the gymn and maybe some non-starts for a few games would be a start.
