Larranaga "hugely successful" at BG?

Post by San Diego Falcon »

That's what Jim Nantz said. I thought that was Ball State that almost beat UNLV in the 1990 regional semi-finals. Maybe it was really us? Maybe we won the MAC more than once in eleven years? Where are all those extra banners? Hmm?

I heard that too! Not of lot of credability there, when he says things like that. If he would have checked, he would know that he was very close to being run out of BG, and most thought it was a very good thing that he left.

With the exception of Anderson, how does Larranage compare to the success of other BG coaches?

I knew I shouldn't have left the media guide at home.

I don't know where he ranks, but his winning pct. was about 54%, I think 170-144ish... Anderson was well into the 60% range, if I'm not mistaken. Dakich and Larranaga are in the same ballpark, not sure about some of the others. Fitch is probably up there, but he was only around for a season or two.

Why would anyone expect Nantz to know anything about Larranaga's career at BG? On Don Imus' show the day before the tournament started, he couldn't recall Coach L's name but remembered him as being one of Craig Littlepage's assistants.

I should probably re-think all the "Bring Back Beyerman" paraphernalia I've been getting made, shouldn't I??

If you can find someone to bring back Beyerman, we need to hire THAT person as AD. Ol' Fred's been gone 50 years now....

I would have read that article if the template it was presented in had anything to do with BGSU what-so-ever. As it stands though... no thanks! Ew... icky. ;-)

You don't get the symbolism of young executives working in the shadows to improve the image of Bowling Green athletics? And the black and white tones that symbolize getting back to basics as a means of promoting the greater good?

Don't hate, appreciate.

Seton Hall has been given permission to talk to Coach L.

(Link somewhere, but I don't have it, just saw it on AP.)
