I really like what I see if this team stays like this. We have cut some fat recently with the departures.

I have no reason to put Sullvan at Starting SF. In all likelyhood it will be a hodge podge of lineups including Sims, Moten, Clements and Sullivan.

Polk vs. Moon is a no brainer trade off as long as Polk can walk and chew gum. We had what Moon can offer. We had little of what Polk can.

How many more schollies do we have?

We lost 3 players since near the end of the year and have added 1. So we have 2 more schollies?

Not having seen Polk I'm somewhat loath to comment but a trade of a 5'8", 160 pounder for a 6'9" 290 pounder sounds like a move the other direction. Seriously, how tall is Radwhatever? He appeared more like 6'5" or less to me when I saw him this year. What's the prognosis for him helping you all out next year?

It would be awesome, just AWESOME if our team looks like what you have listed. The way people have hyped Sims I would say yes he can start at PG, however you have to beleive that John Floyd is a work hard Dakich type guy and he has produced despite limitations. Perhaps he would be better off the bench in a lesser role, but I would bet he will start as a starter. Floyd is not a special player. Floyd is a solid player. If Sims, Moten or Clements can be a special player they could all end up at PG, despite thier limitations.

Until we recruit an actual D1 PG we will continue to be a below average team. College teams are built through the guards and our guard play this past season was beyond abysmal. There really wasn't much hope for the future shown this year at those spots either.

Floyd may be a solid player but he was best when he was playing SG and Wright or Moon were handling the ball. Now both of those guys are gone. What's worse is we REALLY don't have anyone capable of guarding a solid PG from the other team. Adding post players is great because we badly needed them, but I still say that PG is our most pressing need, and has been pretty much since BP graduated. I won't feel we have a significant shot at competing for a MAC title until that void is filled, either.

There isn't a HS kid in the entire country that could prevent John Floyd from getting 35 mpg at the point, so there's no sense in talking about it anyway. I don't know what to expect next year EXCEPT that

There didn't seem to be too much information on Langhurst's college options on jjhuddle or a couple other sites that I looked at briefly. He scored alot of points in high school and I can only assume that he is getting looks from MAC schools, much like fellow Willard alum and current Akron starter Nick Dials.

Somebody on jjhuddle also said something about a Hoehner (?) kid from BGHS that they thought may end up at BGSU. For anybody that watched the Bobcats this year, could this kid be a possible signing?

Jimmy Langhurst is listed on Rivals.com as having interest in BG, but I'm not sure if an official offer was ever made. Technically, we are not into the twilight zone of late summer in terms of recruiting yet, and the spring signing period is still before us.

I am not familiar with any of the BGHS players, but that is honestly the first I've heard of any local products being mentioned with MAC schools including the more athletic Grant Maxey (Scott) and Jonathon Dunn(SJJ), an undersized athlete that will warrant a look from Dan and Artie b/c of his Johnnie Boy heritage and their (SJJ) late season success. Maxey is easily more ready to contribute at the D-1 level than is Dunn, but neither are point guards.

The most local point guard product that I've heard of tobe rumored to be exporling MAC options is Josh Voorst of D-4 Ottoville. Voorst is a very solid 6'1 to 6'2 unlike Floyd's mythical measurements. He is a very nice athlete but would not jump off the page in a City League game. Easily dominates at the D-4 level leading to a #1 ranking before losing to state runner-up Columbus Grove in a competitive district. I saw Voorst hang 38 points on a team earlier this year live and honestly he could have picked a number and had that just as well. Sees the court well enough and would be an upgrade athletically over Floyd and Guerin. Can dunk with one or both hands as featured on Vince Koza's Lima News highlights many weekends. My fear would be Voorst and Floyd matching up defensively together against MAC competition. I would rule out that Voorst could handle the assignment, but watching him play a poor D-3 team and assessing MAC defensive potential is challenging at best.

Darryl Roberts would have been an adequate find in the City League as well, but he's headed for Akron for those of you that are aware of "certain" circumstances.

Kyle Lightner at Scott was the most consistent senior all season long in the City League, however, his stature is not much larger than Moon's and easily loses out on physical mass. I would question whether his body could sustain a D-1 year. However, he is ultra quick and able to score in bunches against great CL competition.

A few really intriguing options include Deonta Vaughn whom BGSU was listed as being interested in at one time. His recruitment depending on the service has tailed off or picked up. He is currently attending Harmony Prep in Cincinnati and qualifying maybe an issue. I would assume he would have to sit if BG was in the mix, but his talent and upside upon qualifying is unmatched as far as players that are listed as interested are concerned. A very strong 5-11/200.

Mike Harris a 6-4/185 combo guard from Marion Franklin is listed on Rivals as well. Primarily a swing guard, he's listed as having solid handles that could potentially allow him to spell minutes at the point as well.

Lance Jeter from Beaver Falls, PA and Ryan Sims' teammate Collin Young, 6-3/185 are two other names that have been listed on various sites as well.

A really intriguing late entry to Scout.com has BG and Chris Knight (not the Brady Bunch guy) a 6-5/190 swing forward from traditional prep power The Patterson School of NC interested in one another. At some point, if he can't handle the ball as a taller point guard, how many athletic forwards do we really need? The intrigue is found in Scout's assessment, calling a re-classified Knight "one of the top 5 wing players in the class of 2005 in Ohio." That type of athleticism is lacking on this team and you can always find a spot for athletes.

Ryan Hoehner would be an excellent addition here, but it's extremely unlikely that he will be coming here. He's a second cousin of Josh Almonson. Ryan's Dad is a long time employee of B.G.S.U. so they wanted him to be a walk on ( since he can attend school here free anyway).
