Hi! We (about 12 of us from Florida) are looking forward to coming to Cleveland for this game. We are starting to wonder about tickets. What will our options be with the following situation:

Nobody in our group is a season ticket holder
My Son is expected to be a Falcon player in the game. (Do they get tix?)

Thanks in advance!

We are really looking forward to the next four years of Falcon football!!!!

I am waiting on a response from one last straggler before I order our group of 15-17. Can't wait for 9/2!

To the Big Bird group - I wouldn't be too concerned about tickets. I'm not sure, but I assume the players get/have the ability to get as many tickets as they would like.

He should be eligible for some comp tickets as a player. I don;t know how many each player is limited to.

To the "prides of Fla." (with all due respect)....I assume that players are given SOME "comps", since the parents of players are all together in the stands under normal circumstances....don't know if 12 is possible, but I'd bet that some kids can "trade" with other players to get extra tix if necessary. If need be, I'll have TWO upper deck tix available for your group if you're willing to split up... (These are "comps" for being a season ticket holder).... and don't forget....we tailgate at least 3-4 hrs. before each game...we'll just have to decide WHERE at Clev. Browns Stadium we can do this.... (my vote is the West parking lot ...Very close to the stadium)

I assumed that there would be some number of comps for the players. I would guess that number to be 2 or 4. My post was more about the other avenues to purchase tickets. I see that ticketmaster has the presale going on now.

BG FOOTBALL AND Air Show Weekend in CLEVELAND, OH

Post by Falcon Commander »

For those of you who are not familar with Labor Day weekend in Cleveland, it is a huge weekend, as the annual Cleveland Air Show is going on Sept 2, 3, and 4.:smt051

So, those who are making travel plans, arranging budgets, booking hotels, etc., may want to include some of the other events at the Airshow (held at Burke Lakefront Airport - close to Browns Stadium), too..:smt051

As another fan mentioned the Blue Angles are appearing. This will be the Air Shows 60th Anniversary. :smt059

This could be a GREAT THREE DAY WEEKEND :!:

Check this out for more details if interested:

For those of you wondering about tailgaitging, it has to be in the Muni lot (I believe on the south side of the stadium - my suburbanite mind has always been disoriented downtown). The muni lot, for me anyhow, is the very definition of tailgaiting. It is football, it is baseball. It is damned close to heaven itself!

crazy 58, there will be The Great Tailgate party pregame with BGSU Alumni Association support at the Barking Lot area at the stadium. Formally beginning at 11 AM if the kickoff remains set at 1 PM. There will be a big postgame End Zone Party at the House of Blues downtown Cleveland around 6 PM. The post game event is an Alumni Association supported event also.

Those are the Saturday events announced at the March 7 Alumni event at the stadium.

Friday night before the game, there will be a big Falcon Club/Alumni Association evening event location to be announced in downtown Cleveland. If you are staying overnight there are rooms avaiable for BG fans at the Marriott Key Center (team hotel) and the Renaissance. Again this info has been released: just repeating FYI.

Big, big weekend for Bowling Green. We need our fans there to support our team- and, to be blunt, a university that deserves our suppport given what is happening on campus and the vision our athletic dept is showing in setting up this game.

Beleive me, OSU. UM, Wisky, Iowa, MSU are never coming to the Doyt. Minn (apparently) is, Indiana, Northwestern maybe. We need to support our school at this game in big numbers. Get a serious group together if you can.

Go Falcons!

Thanks for the info falconfan1. Tailgating has got to be in the muni lot. The place built for tailgating and is a hell of a sight on Sundays in the fall. It just decked out in orange & brown is located southeast to CBS, right across from burke airport. It's a little walk to the stadium but that is the tailgate place when the Brownies play. It's like a massive festival and where I suggest everyone tailgates. For NFL games it's $15 (used to be $10) and you're really paying for the amazing tailgating experience. Hopefully for this college game they will drop the price back down to $10. I might hit up that postgame party at the house of blues, that sounds cool is a nice place. I won't have to be staying downtown because my house is about 15 minutes from the stadium. I also thought tickets for students went on sale April 15th. That's what it said on BG's website a few weeks ago. Maybe it's changed, I'll have to look. I'm really jacked up for Sept. 2nd! Go Falcons! Beat Wisconsin!!!

Players are given four comp tickets. They can get more from other players not using theirs but for a game like this they could be very hard to find.

The player must know the names of the people he is getting tickets for and must put those names on a list. When the person shows up for the game they must show ID to get the ticket designated for them.

Thanks for the info! I am sure that all the players will be using their allotment of tickets for this game. This sounds like a great weekend. We're going to fly up Friday and stay to till Monday to see more of Cleveland.

I'm sure the Friday night party, tailgating and postgame (after the BGSU victory of course <g>) events will be great fun.

GO FALCONS!

Like the others have said tailgating has GOT to be in the Muni Lot. There is no greater tailgate experience in the world than Sundays at the Muni. It's about a 10 minute walk to the stadium, but the place is the best for tailgating. It's sandwiched between the shoreway and the railroad tracks, right across from the airport.

I can give anyone directions and/or get a map if you need it. Like the others have said, it has to be where we set up for this tailgate. I plan on staying in Cleveland on Friday night and trying to get there early. For Browns games we shoot for 6:15/6:30 as an ETA and the lot is just starting to get some people (there are usually 20-30 cars/trucks/RVs there by that time. For this game I don't think we'll need to get there quite that early, but why not? LOL We've got a lot of time to work out the details, but I concur with the others that the muni lot s the place to be. The Barking lot is a whole lot of corporate crap for the Browns games, I expect the same for this one. I don't like schmoozing with $8 beers, I'll be in the muni getting primed for the game :)
