Cool, babe. I'm hip.

Different strokes. If you would have prefaced your initial post with that language we would be on maybe page 2. :-D

There's no cussing, but PLENTY of poor grammar, if that kind of thing bothers you. Elliott, we're in/through college. This sort of colloquial language bothers me when middle-schoolers use it, and even more when a college-educated person does. Will you please take the time to spell words correctly?

Thanks...it's nice to be appreciated! :D

I apologize for being so rude in an earlier post wanting you to come forward...I respect your opinion. I agree with you on many points (not all of them), but I don't feel like going into those right now. It's Friday, and I'm lazy.

Oh, I missed that part, 'cause it was at the end of the long horn paragraph.

Thanks. It is nice to be appreciated. But at the same time? It's true that we're not loud instruments. Even when we DO have a part where it's just woodwinds and no brass, it's reeeeally hard to hear us specifically. I don't take offense at what Lozer said earlier in the thread. Woodwinds aren't intended to be the most obvious/main part of a marching band.

That is NOT to say that woodwinds aren't important. Just because you can't listen and say, "Well, will you listen to that clarinet line, so loud and clear" or whatever, doesn't mean that they don't add to the sound and color of the band in an important way.

I hope not, Adam, since a lot of posters end up calling each other by their real names anyway!

I agree about the woodwinds adding a lot of color to the overall sound of the band. Seriously, if you took the woodwinds out, and listened to us...you would know something was missing. Therefore, while not the MOST important...they are still imperative to the "symphonic sound of the Falcon Marching Band."

"Uh-huh" was my only answer and walked away. I can still feel his daggers on the back of my head......but he did want my job (DM) in the worst way.

There should never be a comparison between college bands and DCI. I also have NEVER EVER met a Falcon Marching Band Member ever say or believe "We're good enough."
Complete unawareness here. Check out vicfirth.com and look for clips of both Riverside Community College and Umass. They are both awesome and better than some drum corps.

And yes.....I'm sure EVERYONE wanted your position......how honorable to stand in front of the band and wave your arms while nobody's watching......and wow, the whole strut thing, that was cool for about 2 seconds during fundies week.

I have no beef, other than it was insinuated by the drum major fellow that this scouts fellow was inferior to him and just wanted his positon. I have a feeling that this scouts fellow was plenty talented, as it takes way more drive to do a season of drum corps, or even just a day of drum corps than entire lifetime of FMB. Also, dare you talk about my drive and ability? I actually HAVE exceeded the world of the might FMB drumline. I spent two years in an idependent world class indoor line and if you have ever been to a 15 hour rehearsal, then keep talking, otherwise, don't dare question my drive. And by the way, this indoor ensemble didn't even need a conductor...........freakin' sweet.

I could go on and on, but I have to go to a meeting about tomorrow with the WGI world finalist drumline that I happen to be working with......I suck so much.

Insinuated? I stated nor meant no such thing, skippy. Tell you what, next time just read what I type and don't read INTO what I type.

I find it interesting that you are immediately jumping to a side of a situation which happened before you were in elementary school.

Why is that? Oh, yeah, you have a beef and wanted to start a fight. I'm in no mood to pull wings off of flies this evening, so I'll just let your flippant and completely baseless posts go.

Good day.
