Top-5 MAC Baseball Facilities

Post by BGSU33 »

Here’s how I would rank the Top-5 MAC baseball facilities. Although, you could easy make the case that Ohio, Miami and CMU could all be grouped together as the Top-3 in any order depending on what you like. I like Ohio and Miami the best because of their settings, design, etc. I know Ohio even has lights at their place for night games which is awesome. I’d ranked Ohio #1, Miami #2 and CMU #3 myself. Kent State has made some nice renovations of their place (I took a guided tour of it last summer) and it’s nice, but it’s still a distant fourth to OU, Miami and CMU IMO. Kent State has really improved their facilty a lot so it’s gotten better. Its entire field is now Field Turf which I wasn’t big on for baseball. I’ve always liked WMU’s place too and I like the old canopied grandstand. A little historical fact about WMU’s stadium, it hosted the first two College World Series way back in 1947 and 1948. After seeing how big the CWS is now and being played in at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska now, it’s almost hard to image it being played in Kalamazoo. How times have changed. Rosenblatt Stadium just gets better every year too. In a contractual agreement between the city, stadium and NCAA, each year Rosenblatt receives upgrades and improvements as the home of the CWS. It just gets better every year.

Here are some direct links for each school to see their stadiums. I couldn't find a gallery for Ohio's, but if you scroll down you can see a couple photos and most of these links have image galleries.

I visited Miami's field last summer and came away very impressed. Ohio and CMU look nice, also.
