Do I get to see a BGer tonite?

Post by Class of 61 »

My good friend (and future "best man") has season tickets for the Cleve. Barons (now in their last season here)....tonite, we're going to see the Toronto Marlboros play the Barons....Hopefully, I'll be able to see a certain BG player who just left the program(Alex Foster?) play tonite...If so, I'll try to post a "progress" report ASAP.

Anyone know if he IS playing for Toronto? And how is he doing?

Yes Alex Foster should be in the game but it's the Toronto Marlies. Hopefully he'll light the Marlies up for a couple goals and assists, then you can tell everyone around you he played for Bowling Green State University in OHIO, not Kentucky.

I would assume that Alex would be in the lineup tonight...he is number 23 for the Marlies. His stats are:

6gp 1g 0a +/- (-1) 6pim

Alex is a good kid. Son of former NHL'er Dwight Foster. Have fun watching him, he has a good shot at making the big club.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

BG Gear?

Post by Class of 61 »

Had my BG cap on....Alex played LW for the Marlboros/Marlies(nickname for "proper" name)..... mostly 4th and/or 3rd line....didn't do much honestly, but then again, he wasn't on the ice all that much either. Cleve. won 3-2 in their next to last game in Cleve. before moving to the E.Coast next year.

Didn't see BG play but once this year vs. Notre Dame....was Foster a Center as opposed to a wing ?....just assumed that due to his high asst. stats.

Assuming you're not kidding...it's where Corvettes are made and is just south of Mammoth Cave National Park.
