I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not assuming anything, just stating my opinion on our needs.

BleedOrange: You make me want to laugh out loud, gf1! It IS that simple. We have 13 to give and 12 accounted for including Polk per my list. Why on earth your (a) think that Phillips was ever on scholarship,
Maybe you should laugh to yourself:

Phillips was on schollarship for the 05-06 season as he was for the 04-05 season. Miller is the guy that was not on schollarship this past season, as he joined the team half way through. Joining a team half way through the season doesn't mean you cant be on schollarship, but in his case he was not. Him joining the team is accounting for the extra spot. Your math is right but not your information.

I think he was referring to Option's post in the early moments of this thread:

Either way, we're talking about 2006-7, so AGAIN, he's irrelevant. Pay attention, dammit!

But without an already determined departure we would be over scholarships.

It is ammusing how belittling you are trying to be when you can't understand a simple idea. Others have looked at it and said we must have known Phillips would leave. That is an answer. Not an asnwer like "gawd you can't do math'. That is not a legitimate answer when the equation has as many variables as this one has.

Scholarship offers are not four year promises by Universities/or coaches. Sure in 99% of cases, they are, but Phillips, from my understanding was never told he was going to be given a scholarship for the 2006-07 season, thus he would have been on his own financially and he opted to graduate instead. I think that is the more clear answer of all is that Phillips was never "financially" a part of the plans for 2006-07.

Going into 05-06, all 13 were committed guys other than Phillips. If Phillips was on scholarship during 05-06, then it must have been the scholarship vacated by Holland. I'm thinking that DD had no plans for Phillips being scholarship on an ongoing basis, he just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
