I don't remember Tim Maxwell mentioned on this board.

Was he following Jamie Dumont? If so, is he still commited to transfer?

I am pretty sure that Tim didn't follow Jamie here. Tim was highly recruited by BG, but chose Maine, then didn't get playing time and wasn't happy there, so came here. I think he has been pretty happy with his decision to come here. Expect to see a lot of him next year.

Amazing the number of freshman we will have next year....whew!! I think the competition for ice time will be tougher than it has ever been! ....AND THAT IS A GOOD THING!!!!

GO HOCKEY!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I like this about Hohl...

"hard to move in front"

he must have played with Sinkewich...

Lots of BG here...Didn't Jimmy play for Sioux City last year?

McIlrath is playing for Indiana as well...

We will be a power again!

Go Falcons!

He's been mentioned several times. A VERY good offensive defenseman, highly recruited by several schools. He's been enrolled here for a year now and has been practicing with the team all along...he just hasn't been able to play. He'll have a full three years of eligibility.

FWIW, we now have 16 new recruits, 14 of which will be here next year. Of those 16, 7 are from the USHL, 4 from the NAHL, 1 from USNDPT, 1 from the COJHL, 1 from the OPJHL, 1 from the MJHL, and 1 transfer from Maine. We were accused by someone here of not recruiting enough from the USHL. I hope this satisfies you that we have, indeed, been recruiting heavily from the USHL.

This is an absolutley huge class. From what I can tell McIlrath may be the best of the forwards coming it. He currently leads all scorers in the USHL in the playoffs with 8 points in 4 games. It looks like he's back to the form he had last year before his injury.

I see where Josh Boyd is a signee. His father is the Director of Player Personel for the Columbus Blue Jackets. His sister is a BG student/alumnae. His father also played at BG, graduating in 1976.

In some respects, this ought to bode well for BG. Whether he turns out to be a great player or not, the fact that his father will be present for some of his games, could lead current and future Falcons to be drafted/signed by the Jackets. If this happens, many of them will be able to play in Ohio for a long-time to come.

Of course, the last few Falcons to sign with the Jackets (Holzinger, Pronger, Harkins, Dahl), didn't last to long and haven't really signed on with anyone else in the NHL. They all got caught up in the youth movement. With players like Nash, do you blame the Jackets too much?
