Here's a link to some Viking chatter about Culpepper leaving and either Omar or Gradkowski coming in to play behind Brad Johnson.

I've seen Omar going in the mid second round to teams like Miami, KC, and Arizona in most of the mock drafts I've read. Vic Carucci of NFL.com has Omar rated as the fourth best QB in the draft.

A lot will depend on where free agent QB's end up now that the salary cap is set.

From today's ESPN chat:

The Vikings obviously need to address the QB position, but I don't expect them to trade away the draft for a QB in the first round. New coach Brad Childress is a QB guru and he probably feels confident drafting someone like Alabama's Brodie Croyle, Bowling Green's Omar Jacobs or Oregon's Kellen Clemens in Rounds 2 or 3 and then developing them for a couple of years as backups behind Brad Johnson and once-promising prospect J.T. O'Sullivan.

And more from Todd, who didn't seem to like Omar a couple weeks ago. Or at least wrote that he made a huge mistake, leaving early:

Todd (Cleveland): The Browns got a good value in the 3rd round with Charlie Frye last year, who is this years best rd 3 value?

SportsNation Todd McShay: At the QB position, I think a third round steal could be a guy from your neighborhood -- Bowling Green's Omar Jacobs. He had a poor season in 2005, mostly because he played with a non-throwing shoulder injury. But his production in 2004 was off the charts and he has the size, accuracy and mobility to possibly even push for a starting job in the NFL a few years down the road.

Omar did not have a "poor" 2005 season. It paled in comparison to 2004, but his TD?INT ratio was very good as was his completion % and YPG.

I think the defenses would have given him more had he run a bit more and kept them from dropping eight into coverage so often, but he still did fine.

KC makes a lot of sense for the aforementioned reasons and playing behind a first rate offensive line, with Larry Johnson running could be a big plus, their only question mark is receivers.
Playing behind Culpepper a few seasons wouldn't be a bad way to go. While I'd love to see him in a Lion jersey, I hope it doesn't happen so the organization can't ruin him like every other quarterback (Chuck Long, Andre Ware, Scott Mitchell, Charlie Batch, Joey Harrington etc...).

More of the same from Todd McShay:
Matt, Eau Claire, WI
After Young, Leinart, and Cutler, what QB catches your eye, more as developmental guy who 3 years from now could be a very good starter?

TODD MCSHAY
I still think it's Omar Jacobs (Bowling Green). He shouldn't have come out this year after suffering through an injury-riddled and inconsistent junior campaign. But I still think he has great natural tools to work with. He has good size, big hands, adequate mobility, a strong arm and very good accuracy -- despite his unorthodox throwing motion. I realize that Alabama's Brodie Croyle is most likely to be the fourth QB taken, but I think Jacobs' upside is greater. Croyle is a tough, intelligent, strong-armed pocket passer but he's a fragile 205-pound QB with a frightening history of injuries.

I think the problem is that the only real bad performance Omar ever had in his college career was the much hyped Boise State game which was a mid-week ESPN game so a lot of people saw it and based his whole season upon it. And I harldy think one injury constitutes injury riddled since he played the whole 2004 season with a broken toe.

I would argue a whole lot with the players he has in front of Omar except for the last one. If there is a knock on Omar, it's that he played in a week conference, so they say, and that is one reason that they are dropping him. But against the best teams that we have played in the two years, Omar did pretty well for himself, and impressed everyone that watched those games. But I don't think that Jackson played anywhere near the competition level, so I would be really interested to see why they have him ahead of Omar. Again, I don't really think that we can complain a whole lot about most of those ahead of Omar, and he probably would have been better served to come back for another year, but he didn't and we are moving on without him. I think that he is a three to four year developer before he can truly be an asset at the NFL level for a winning team.

So who does Mel have the Browns drafting?
