GREAT day at the ballpark! Freshman Marty Baird came in and pitched 6 innings to shut down Toledo's offense, while BG had a couple more big innings after being down 4-1.
Toledo fans are such easy targets!!! It must be tough to always be in last place in baseball.

I guess I have an email to send back to the UT fan I know who promptly emailed a group about UT's win over Michigan last week. :-D

I don't think he'll question "if BG even has a baseball team" anymore...

SWEEEEEEEET!!! Way to go BG!! BG now leads the all time series in baseball with UT, 106-79. BG also swept UT last year, 4-0.

More importantly, the Falcons are now tied with Kent State at 8-4 MAC...good for first place in the East...2 games ahead of Miami and 3 ahead of Ohio. Akron and Buffalo are virtually out of the race at 2-10 MAC,

Still lots of baseball left, though. Looks like BG has 15 MAC games left...and we get both Miami and Kent State at home.

BG back in action against IPFW in Fort Wayne this Tuesday and hosts Cleveland State Wed. Falcons then travel to my neck of the woods next weekend for a 3 game series with Akron. Friday's game starts at 3...I have to work til 5:30. :x Saturday is the Spring Game. Sunday, the Freaklings and I will be at the game.

GO FALCONS!!!!

Will do, Sir! I'll have to work the Gametracker on the job for Friday's game.

Saturday, I'll be in BG for the Sping Game but we'll definitely be there Sunday to get the 3rd win. Akron is really struggling this year...7-24, 2-10 MAC. We need to keep this momentum rolling and take it to the Zips.
Let me know if you're gonna be in town Sunday.

Awesome weekend for BG against Toledo!!! After a pair of non-conference games against IPFW and CSU, we dive into our first MAC East action of the season with a three-game series against Akron. This is a series we must win to keep pace in the MAC Tournament race. The Zips are only 7-24 overall and 2-10 in the MAC, but we can’t take them lightly and we’ve gotta win this series as well. A sweep would be awesome, but worst case scenario, we’ve gotta win two outta three. We’re only 2-4 in the MAC on the road after dropping a pair of series 1-2 to both CMU and EMU. And BG also plays one more MAC road series than home this year with four home and five away series, so we’ve gotta take care of the Zips this weekend. I plan to make the Friday and Sunday games as I will be in BG for the spring football game on Saturday. Hope to see some other BG fans at both places. GO BG!!!
