Name of Student Section

I've been thinking that our student section needs a name. Basketball has both the anderson animals and the sideline squad and the hockey student section is always pretty full and into the game. We need a name so we have an identity and people know that section of the ice arena is for students and they are gonna be loud, yell at opponents, and stand the whole game. A couple names I've thought of so far is The Frozen Nest, Pooch's Pack, The Insane Eer's (section E), and my favorite- The Talon. I think The Talon is fierce sounding and we are just a part of the hockey program but a part that can rip into opponent's head and we as students are the foundation of the team. So I think it would be really sweet to maybe get a banner or sign put up for next season on the glass in front of section of E to let everyone what this section does. Maybe even get shirts and a logo made up and possibly pass around a sheet of cheers and come up with some new things for the games. Any suggestions for names or which one you guys like the best, please reply.

I thought they had a name called the ICE PACK, but I only heard of it briefly. I know they gave away shirts with that on it. I love your ideas...GO FOR IT!!!! Email Coach Paluch and tell him what you'd like to do. He will support it!!! Anything that gets the student section united (as long as it is in good taste....), he will be behind 100%!! Back in the old days, 1970's and 80's; Sec A had a group of students
with Halloween masks, they were the "bleacher creatures".

Like Falcon Fanatic, if you need help let us know. I want that building rockin' again! I want BG Hockey to be an event again.

I think FF is right, the Ice Pack keeps trying to break its way out of the metaphorical shell, maybe you can give it that extra little help it needs to become the student's new home over in section E. The only problem I have with Pooch's Pack is if (god forbit this could happen, and no I'm not being sarcastic) he ever left then the group would be no more. The ice arena needs support like the animals and the sideline squad give to Anderson arena. Good luck, if you need any help pedaling the idea or getting the word out to people let me know and I'd be happy to try.

We can discuss it tomorrow at the spring football game. I'll be at the AZZ tailgate area!! Looking forward to some hockey talk....geeeez, I miss hockey....

FF, you and me both. If it weren't for having a girlfriend, life in the spring after hockey and basketball are over almost would be pointless

I do not like using Pouch's Pack or whatever it was. The name should reflect the student section and the team and not the coach. This is not ment to be a slam on Pouch because i support him 1000%. I just remember when Urban was football coach and the chants were not "BGSU" or "BG FALCONS". It was "URBAN MEYER" and then he left. Support the team, as a whole. Personally I like a simpler name..."Section E." I can see shirts on students at away games bringing a little bit more of the Ice Arena on the road in addition to those loyal fans who follow the Falcons almost everywhere. The tradition is already there, anyone remember "E-Ticket?" I know at least one person on here who does.

Anyone remember back in the 80's when Section A and Section H used to yell back and forth to each other - and the witty Bugle that was passed out at all the home games? Those were great times - I would love to see the Ice Arena with the atmosphere we had then back again. - - - - I think we're so close to having a really good team again - then the rest will follow!!!!

Actually FF and I were just talking about the A&h banter today at the spring game. That would not be hard to start up again at all. And the bugle is up to anyone who wants to take the time to do it.

E tickets, my you do go back aways.

About that time the media guide / game program referred to the team as the"Ice House Gang". I submit that as a potential name for section E.
