Because of the SEBO Reception at the President's suite in the Doyt, scheduled for 10:30, don't think I'll have as much time as usual to tailgate with the usual crew...but I'll try to get over for at least a little time, depending on when I leave Sagamore Hills.

Michelle & I will miss this year's Spring Game :(

We're going out of town for our anniversary. It was my fault (LOL) ... I made the plans and the hotel reservations. We'll see everyone soon enough, probably at a practice or picture day in August if they have that this season.

I'll be there for my first spring game, playing with a small pep band. Since I've never been to one before, is the game a 4- 15 minute quarters game or is it shortened? Thanks and see you at the Doyt!

I think they play 4-15 minute quarters (maybe 12) with a running clock.

Thank God! When they play with the stopped clock, it seems to take FOREVER!!! :smt040

Actually, I saw where coach Brandon mentioned recently that he is planning on just running offense vs defense this year. Not sure of the format, but it doesn't appear as though it will be a traditional "game" as they tried last year by dividing everyone up into two teams. My guess is that it will look more like a glorified practice/scrimmage this year.

Oh that would kinda suck. I liked it alot last year when it was more like a game. Splitting up everyone was pretty cool I thought. Maybe Coach just doesn't want to see 70 some points put up on both defenses again like last year.

I think UT and UM did that this year as well. Appears to be a trend.

I've always heard of some teams doing "drill-based" spring games, giving points based on how individual plays result or whatever. I believe UM toned it down this year due to a large number of injuries they're trying to get healthy from.

I'm sure you all will forget it once the beers start flowing and the brown and orange takes the field!

Gosh, the closer the SG gets, the sadder I'm getting. This will be the first time in three years that I haven't been able to make it. Why couldn't I have gotten home a week earlier? :?

Oh well. Everyone have a good time. Hope to see ya'll soon!

While not as fan friendly to watch, I think it is the best way. This gives each unit a chance to work together and see what they can do. When you split them up, you lose the cohesiveness of the unit. Given how young we are, it is best for each unit to get as many reps together as possible.
