He was big, but he was also slow footed, and didn't seems nearly as strong as you'd expect from a guy that large. With an offense that passes so much, I think we may be better off with the smaller more agile blockers than the big road graders...although that may change if we go to more running plays...
hammb,

Markray was All MAC last year?
I know, but I wasn't that enthused by his play. Lichtensteiger was All MAC as well, and I really didn't think our OL played like a group that had two All MAC guys on the inside. Perhaps it was the OTs that made the group look not so good, but I just was not happy with the OL play for the most part. They were especially poor in the games that Turner played (the Kent game REALLY comes to mind).

Perhaps I'm wrong in singling out Markray (since he was selected as all MAC), but I really thought that our right side struggled last year, as did most of the OL in general. We weren't opening the types of holes that our RBs were used to and we weren't giving the QBs nearly as much time as they were used to either.

OL is one thing I'm hoping steps up for a big improvement this year.

they better cancel that 2008 Boise trip after Boise visits the Doyt in 2007 - no way in hell should we be doing 2-for-1's with another non-BCS team

I think Boise State is supposed to come back in 2009 as well.

Valid points, hammb. I have to agree that our O line wasn't quite as good as the past few years. I think you'll see a better line in 2006. I'm excited to see 4 of the 5 "Blocks of Granite" either 1st or 2nd string.

BTW, I may have missed this...anyone know what happened to Edmond Massey? He was the other block of granite from that class.

J4H,

That's what I thought I recall hearing but couldn't remember. I think you're right.

But that is not listed in the Prospectus. :( I'm with SDF. If they aren't making two trips to the Doyt, we don't make two trips to Boise.

I love seeing the Wyoming series come back on the schedule. It gives us another home game and I like the idea of playing teams from different regions of the country.

I agree. It's bad enough getting railed by BCS schools...we simply cannot let this happen with Boise State. I've got a ton of respect for their program but we need to keep this one even.

I like the Wyoming series as well.
