OSU Ticket Allocation

Post by Columbus_Zak »

Just so I'm understanding this correctly, anyone contributing under $500 to the falcon club will not be able to use their status as a member to get tickets.

Thanks in advance.

if you donate 350-499 you can have priority access to 2 tickets.
If you are a season ticket holder, you can get priority access to the same number of OSU tickets as number of season tickets you have (4 season ticket, 4 OSU tickets(
They can be combined, i.e. you have 4 season tickets and donate 500$ to falcon club you can 8 OSU tickets.

So really anyone donating under 350 dollars can't use their member status, but you can get around that if you buy season tickets.

To be honest there's enough going on in Columbus, and around the stadium, that it's not completely necessary to get tickets. The last time BG came down here I had loads of fun just milling around the stadium.

I'm sure as the game gets closer and closer there'll be more information available.

If my memory serves me correctly, there were tickets available in each of the years that BG has played in Columbus. While students have been allocated 1000 tickets in the past, not all have been sold. I remember calling the ticket office two weeks before the game in '03 and was able to get tickets. I was also able to get a single ticket the week of the game. Part of it is because a lot of BG Alumni in the Columbus area have access to OSU tickets through spouses, work, family, or their own alumni ties to OSU (many have graduate degrees from OSU). As a result, they won't be going trought the BG ticket office. Plus, if they can get tickets by their own means, chances are they are better than BG's sections (southwest corner of south stands and a small section near the field in the northeast corner).

As for on the street scalping, don't sweat it. With the exception of a trult big game against Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, or Texas, tickets can be had for less than face value when purchased around Ohio Stadium. In '01 I purchased a $50 face value ticket for $30 15 minutes before the Wisconsin game. The seat was on the 45 yard line in C-deck.

Don't sweat it, good seats can still be had. Just be patient.

I wouldn't watch the game inside of the shoe unless you know you're part of a sea of orange. I'd rather have a bazooka shell put through my knee cap than spend time with OSU fans while the Buckeyes play.

The last time we played the band wasn't allowed to yell beat the buckeyes during the cadences becaus the directors were afraid of how people would react to us. :smt062

You should get on some Texas boards to get their feedback from their visit to Columbus last fall.

It's not smack...people are talking about their true experiences. It's not their fault that the host school were jerks. I had the same experience that many other BG fans and Texas fans had and I would not want to go back to the shoe unless I was surrounded in a sea of orange. It's just safer to watch the game on tv. Sad but true.

In the interest of equality I had no problems whatsoever in my seats. The people were very complimentary of BG and were not nasty at all.

Since we are sharing experiences, here is another one. I went to the games in 1997 as well as the last time we were at OSU. The last time was with UAO and in 1997 it was with a good friend. It was great both times. There was heckeling taken and given the last time we were down there, but at the end of the game I was approached by several fans who said if the game would have been about 5 minutes longer we would have won. These were student and non students alike. In 1997 I had seats on the track (pre-renovation) surrounded by Scarlet and Grey but had a great time as well. You will have those jerks anywhere. I just don't judge a school by those people and I hope fans from other schools don't judge us by our fans who are jerks.
