About that time the media guide / game program referred to the team as the"Ice House Gang". I submit that as a potential name for section E.
I still have one issue of "E-Ticket" at my house.

The only problem I can see with Talon is that the majority of the student following might not really take to it. They might see it either as corny, or not clever enough. The Animals was a GREAT name for the anderson section, I'm still waiting for something like that to dawn on one of us for the ice arena.
Yeah right girl!

Yeah I'd like to have all the students name it. Passing out a survey to the fans at a game would be nice but I want to have a name and everything set before next season starts. Maybe someone with the BG News can help us out and put a survey in the paper with a list of 5 names and students can vote on those or include a suggestion of their choice. I want the whole campus to name the section, not me, so a "Name the Ice Arena Student Section Contest" in the BG News or online would be perfect. NIZ me and you should try to get this thing started. We can go to coaches or the athletic department and tell them what we want to do. I don't know if you know my name here on AZZ but I'm Mike, the kid who was in the Animals with you this year. Let's try to get this going before school is out. Send me a PM and let me know what you think.

I like how the old folks here refer to being part of "Section A/E/H/whatever"... and how I refer to my student hockey experience as "that little triangle space in the corner by the tunnel".

Surveys, schmurveys.

Of course, a nod to tradition would bring back the Bleacher Creatures...

When you first mentioned that I kind of passed it off, but the more I think about it the greater I think the Falcon Freezer could be.

Since many Canadian hockey player have mullet hairdoos,
the Canadian Studies Dept and Club Canadian are thinking about a
"Mullet Day" where they will be giving away (or selling inexpensively)
Mullet wigs. Sounds like fun.

Halloween is on a Tuesday. I would like to see if it is possible to have a Bleacher Creature event. AS the schedule comes out, we can see what happens.

Have fun

Well I sent an email to the coaches and got a response today from Ron Fogarty. I then talked to him on the phone and he said both him and Coach Paulich love the idea. They are going to try to get someone from the marketing department to help out as well. I am meeting with the coaches friday morning at 9 to tell them my ideas and discuss this venture. If anyone has anymore suggestions for anything or what name they want let me know.

Just let them know that there a lot of people on the board that would help!!!!

(And btw, the coach's name is spelled: Paluch ;-) )

How about the "Bird's Nest"?

The Seventh Man? (i.e. six men on the ice, the fans are the seventh man and provide the spark to the players)

The Oven? (as in the heat of the oven. get a pizza joint to sponsor it and it could be the Myles/Pollyeyes/Pissanellos Pizza Oven. give out free pizzas everytime the falcons score).

Olscamp's? After former BG president Paul J. Olscamp under whose watch the north section was built in 1989. And didn't he hire York?

Or simply just call it by their section letter - A, H. Nothing special, but there is also nothing like tradition. Block "O" is tradition at OSU, despite moving from the North end to the south stands and the addtition of the huge jumbo tron.
