If you even read the articles you posted, you would see that her name is spelled S-A-R-A-H
Also you have stated previously that she won't be any good since she didn't play Division I basketball in high school.
Sarah and I are from the same town...goodl Ol' Newark. She's a very good athlete and we're lucky she's coming to BG.

What the hell are you talking about bro? I never said SARAH wasn't a good player. I think she'll be awesome for us. I can't wait till next year man. Get a clue. Don't skim my posts , READ them. The only thing I said about the matter was that I was glad that we had some verbals from some Div.1 HS players in Liana Jennings and Jen Uhl. How many Div.3 or 4 players do you think are on the UK's , Tennesee's and UConn's of the world probably very few to non. Now obviously wern't not UConn , Tenn, extera, so we go after the very good players that happen to be in these smaller schools from time to time and get overlooked. I'm guessing the SEC , the ACC the B10 did't give Sarah Clapper a sniff but thats okay cuz we got her.Tricky_Falcon wrote:If you even read the articles you posted, you would see that her name is spelled S-A-R-A-H

Div.1 players play against better talent day in and day out more often, that is the only reason I said its nice to get more of these Div.1 players but we still we are gonna be able to get those really good players that arnt' on everyone's radar cuz of being at a smaller school. Now do you get my drift?

Okay so she did get looks from some big conference schools, thats great then. I didn't know if she did or not. I was guessing she might not have real hard looks from a B10 school but I'm glad to be wrong. A 6'0 SG that shoot apparently lights out is a very valuable recruit. I'm sure Sarah Clapper would be starting on any Div.1 HS too if she were in one. We'r always gonna be be able to steal these diamonds in the rough that play in the small Div. since most big schools look over them. I'm sure there a handfull of Div.3 and 4 players on big schools squads, just not alot of them. I expect Sara Clapper to be a MAC POY candidate here at BG real soon.Tricky_Falcon wrote:Again before you post make sure you know the facts. She did get a "sniff" from Big Ten schools. Obviously she didn't get offered a full ride like she did with BG but teams were interested in her.falconboy wrote: the ACC the B10 did't give Sarah Clapper a sniff but thats okay cuz we got her.

So you have to play Division 1 to be a successful athlete in college?

Honestly I skim through them and point out the things you know absolutely nothing about but act like an expert. Sometimes it's better to say nothing than act like you know everything.
*Also she could have played Division I basketball in Newark at Newark High School but instead went to Newark Catholic where the academics are just a tad better.

You said that the competitive teams only recruit from Division 1 and you agree with that. My sister was a D4 athlete and got a full ride to Oakland U. We just think that sometime's you need to think about what you're saying before you write it.falconboy wrote:NO!!! Are you people actually reading what I wrote?? How the heck do you get that out of my post? Gosh I give up.BGDrew wrote:So you have to play Division 1 to be a successful athlete in college?

If I may interject some truths about recruiting, I think I know a little about it. It doesn't greatly matter what kind of competition you play against in high school, as far as divisional level. Most of these kids are getting their first looks while they are on AAU teams. That is what gets the kids the looks, AAU and recruiting services. We don't have time to get to every kid that we want to see during the year, so we have to go by what we saw in the summer, and the kids that we are told by other services to decide who we are going to go see again. It is talked about when we are talking about what we think the girl can do against certain competition. But the fact is, a lot of these kids aren't going to play against NCAA D1 or 2 competition most of the time, no matter what division they play in at their high school. You also have to recruit based on what you need, and you just know that kids that have ability to play at DI's that maybe are from smaller schools, are probably going to work harder than the city kid that might have played at a larger school. I've seen it first hand. The fact of the matter is, you can see a kid that has talent just by watching that kid play, not who they are playing against. I watch the kid, and what she does, and they way she plays, how natural things come to her. That is what coaches do, and every coach has a different opinion about different girls, and the ones that they want to recruit. My head coach and I have a difference in who we like to recruit, but my girls were more successful this year. I just thought that I would put my two cents in, I'm really not picking on any one person.
