It will probably happen before the end of May. I heard they are down to three people now.

Would you or someone else be willing to provide names?

I also don't see why a search of this caliber needs to drag on for months. The end of May is a solid target date, but anything beyond that hurts the department more than it helps.

Don't know any names, just that there are three candidates. These search firms don't mess around once they get the criteria that is needed in a candidate.

BGoD: From what I heard at graduation yesterday (from a well placed source), you may be correct. I did not hear an exact number of applicants it had been narrowed down to, but did hear that a recommendation may go to the President very soon, with a hire starting as early as June 1st. This person said the search firm was top notch and had a really good track record for these things. He was very excited about it!!! ...And don't ask, because I won't tell you who said this info!!
