Lionel Sullivan listed in Athlon's Top-300

Post by BGSU33 »

Lionel Sullivan is listed in Athlon's Top-300 national players for high school seniors. He comes in at #297. Thiss would be a very nice pick up for BG.

297???

Post by BleedOrange »

I'm surprised that a kid ranked well in MI's top 10 of '05, a highly regarded class, would rank #297 nationally. I'm not knocking Sullivan, but the MAC picks up 7-8 kids every year that are good enough to be #297 or better. Decent, yes, but not earthshattering.

However, it was 6-7 Wilson Chandler that made his decision TODAY, and he is probably top 5 in MI, and is ranked #124 nationally. THIS, my friend, would be a great pickup. In the MAC, only Turner Battle, Kieth Triplett, Peyton Stovall, and Danny Horace were rated higher coming out of HS.

Man, I can't wait until someone con confirm something.

Considering how many D-I schools there are out there - 326 - and how many teams recruit multiple kids each year, I'll take just about anyone who lands in the Top-300.

Here's what theInsiders have to say . . . 6-5/180 projects at small forward and POWER forward . . . I don't know if he plans to grow any, but I do know that this is something that was a focus last year . . . projecting ahead . . . trying to find what position this kid or that kid will fill eventually . . .

The class looks strong, but seems a bit repetitive one way or another . . .

First-team All Michigan as a Jr. doesn't sound like a project to me.

Did it say anything new?

It'll be really interesting to see who'll be starting on our front line a year from now.
