BG baseball falls to Buffalo, eliminated from MAC Tournament
BG feel to Buffalo 11-8 today, and that coupled with some other games that didn't go our way (like WMU beating CMU in a DH), BG looks like it has been eliminated from the MAC Tournament. Despite one weekend remaining in MAC play, the field looks set with Kent State, Ball State, CMU, EMU, Miami and WMU. Next week our series at Ohio might be just for bragging rights because it looks like the best we can finish is 7th place, one spot out of the tournament field. If BG sweeps Ohio it would make the Falcons 14-13 (.519), and if WMU was swept by EMU it would put the Broncos at 13-12 (520). Talk about every game counting!!! I still hope we can sweep Ohio next weekend, but it looks like we'll be out of the MAC Tournament again this season. Still, let's beat Xavier and sweep Ohio!
GO BG!!!

Not the ending we were all hoping for...especially when the team was 8-4 MAC and tied for first in the East. On the bright side, this seems to be a very young team that will only get better so the future looks solid.
We need to finish the year out strong and use that to build for next season.
BEAT XAVIER!

I agree. When we were 8-4, things looked good. But like you said, we're young and I hope we can continue to get better. With that said, I would love to see this team play hard next week in the MAC series finale against Ohio. Sweep OU!!! Let's end the season on a high note!Falconfreak90 wrote:Not the ending we were all hoping for...especially when the team was 8-4 MAC and tied for first in the East. Freak is DEAD ON here! Yes, it was a disappointing season, but we have a lot of talent on this team, and I expect it to only get better. Plus, and I'm going to make a Sebo connection here, I really hope that the opening of the Sebo Center next year will help with the strength and conditioning of this team. Perhaps it was just Kent (given that this was the only team I saw us play in person), but MAN are we a small team! Not height-wise, mind you, but bulk-wise. I hope that better PT facilities will give us some more size on the diamond, and I expect it will.
Honestly, I expect to see a B!G boost in the physical strenth of ALL of our athletes after the SAC opens. After all, it is much more attractive to work out in a brand new facility than it is in a seedy side-room of the Doyt or the Rec. Center...
