Like any one believes the streets to Rossford are even paved. (Last time is was in Perrysburg they had upgraded to platinum)

wow you people from ohio take high school sports way to seriously. It's HIGH SCHOOL. I remember 4 years ago when i was a freshmen coming from buffalo, ny(where high school hockey is bigger than football), it totally blew my mind that kids were going home on the weekends to watch the high school football game instead of stayin in bg for the BG football game. I know people 4 years later that still don't know that they are out of high school i think. Oh, and trust me, the only reason anyone in the country knows about Bowling Green ohio is because of the school, trust me. Don't try and say that the tractor pull is a reason people know about us because drunk rednecks blasting country and saying racial slurrs are one step below chimpanzies on the food chain.

If you don't have a connection to the team, be it the Battling Bobcats or the Fighting Falcons, why would or should you come out and support the team?

Because it's probably more interesting than sitting at home and watching paint dry.

Right, I agree. But the point of my post was that people are busy doing other things and high school sports and yes even our beloved Falcons, often take a back seat to things such as family events, festivals, concerts, taking the kids to see their grandparents, boating on lake erie etc. etc.

My whole point there was that they aren't just "sitting at home and watching paint dry." People are busy doing other things, and the mentality is not of team-first unless they have a connection to the team or school specifically.

Growing up in Leipsic, I was told that Leipsic was the original choice as the site for the state college in Northwest Ohio. The powers that be in Leipsic (the Edwards family) did not want the college there, so it ended up in BG. I just don't believe that those other activities are prevalent in Oct and Nov in Bowling Green, Ohio. Maybe in bigger cities. But I don't have kids, so I can't relate to family events.

Of course, the game is on labor day weekend. Not everyone is interested in football. Its not that complicated.

Washington botched the marketing on this one, big time. They priced tickets at the same level as the Seahawks and the UW alums stayed away in droves.

Anything under 40,000 is disappointing. Under 30,000 a failure. We would've been able to put 32,000 in at BG (with the old Doyt configuration), and set a new attedance record. If 30K don't show up, I'll be back to vent on giving up that Michigan game last year.

Falcon Club will be, but from what I have heard, not a "students only" bus. Heck, getting students to by tickets is a challenge, so getting 45 people on a bus will be an even bigger challenge, especially since students have to pay full freight on the game tickets.

HS football in Ohio is HUGE, just HUGE. My alma mater, Dover, usually gets around 5,000 every game...not too bad for a Div III school and it seems the whole town travels to away games. And Johnny Swoop '85, no freakin Sandy Valley wisecracks about Dover. It has a VERY rich tradition and is 12th all time in Ohio HS history in terms of wins and winning %.

Dover Football is one of the best. GO TORNADOES!

I can understand hockey being bigger that football in NY cuz NY plays a hell of a lot more HS hockey than Ohio.

I would put Ohio HS football up against any state in the nation...it is rabid and tons of folks in towns all over the state can only be found in HS stadiums on Friday nights.

Full price? Are those the $10 or the $7 tickets?

Also isn't this on Labor Day weekend? Won't most students either be home or left with little to do? I don't know if things have changed very much, but when I was there a disproportionate amount of students were from Cleveland. If they go home that weekend, perhaps a bunch of them will turn up.
