He's still got his old number 18 in the picture, but he's the face of our team now
Congrats to Spart43!
Congrats to Spart43!
Your son has apparently become the posterchild for BG football this year
I saw a billboard at the corner of Central & Secor, and another one on Southbound 75 north of 582.
He's still got his old number 18 in the picture, but he's the face of our team now
Hopefully he can have a healthy & productive season for us!

Thanks for that, I will have to get a picture of those. I wish he had stayed with the #18. Not sure why he switched.
But cool, yes I hope for a healthy season. If last years Wisconsin game was any indication, he could do some great stuff for BG.
He still has a little ways to go toward being 100%, but we are working on it. Hope to have everything good by the opener.

I always thought throwing a huge billboard right outside the stadium was pretty redundant.

Corey switched to #1. He said something about wanting to keep that number in the receiver corps. So he took it. Otherwise it would have went to another group. I think he should have stayed with 18, he is known for that number now. People will come to the game and wonder who 18 is that's on the billboard. Actually I hope they know more about the team then that.

There were countless billboards throughout the NW Ohio area last year showing Omar. I'm pretty sure they were around in '04 as well, but I don't remember what was on them.
They don't help one iota, IMO. They're cool to see for us fans, but I'd be surprised if they bring in any actual attendance from these billboards.

I agree with Hammb that I am not sure how much 'bang' we get out of the billboards. On the other hand, has any one else noticed all the tv spots for the Wisconsin game? Starting with the NFL draft, to Indians baseball games, to the NBA playoffs on TNT, I don't think I have watched a sporting event in the last month and a half without seeing an ad for the game in Cleveland. Hopefully it will pay off in ticket sales.

Are these playing on non-Time Warner cable broadcasts though, or are they just selling to those that would already come anyhow?Warthog wrote:I agree with Hammb that I am not sure how much 'bang' we get out of the billboards. Have any of you Buckeye Cable or Adelphia folks seen the ads? Anyone in Cleveland? Just curious...
