JUST FOR ALL YOU BG HOCKEY FANS
Just for all you BG hockey fans:
I just want to let you all know that the falcon program and it's players that you cherish so much are headed for a long road of losing; due to the lack of people and coaching skills of Scott Paluch and Ron Fogarty. Here's the inside scoop for all you fans that would like to know the real story...
Scott Paluch is not respected and is hated by every one of his players who doesn't kiss his ass. Those players who don't kiss his ass are the ones who are treated with disrespect and have no chance of furthering their career in hockey because of the way Scott runs his team. I've watched the falcon program fall apart under "Scott's Dynasty" and seen players go down because of Scott's coaching inabilities. Players such as Darcy McConvey, Brian Escobedo, Mark Wires, Kevin Beiksa, Tyler Knight, Tyler Masters, Brew, Chris Pedota, Taylor Christie, etc. were never given the opportunity to play up to their full potential due to the way Scott Paluch coached them. If you ever get the opportunity to ask any of the players listed above about the way Scott Paluch coached, they would all give you the same exact answer…WORST COACH I’VE EVER PLAYED FOR!!!
Here's a prime example...
Kevin Beiksa had a "good" college hockey career, though he was never named All-American even though he was a top scoring defenseman in the league. Isn't it funny how a year and a half goes by and sure enough you can see Kevin playing for Vancouver in the NHL. The reason Kevin was not named All-American (but definitely should have been), was because Scott Paluch had it out for him and never pushed for his success. Paluch hated the fact that Kevin was a smart player and wouldn’t conform to his terrible coaching strategies. Moreover, I read an article last NHL hockey season about Beiksa that quoted “I can’t believe a player with Kevin’s ability was able to fly under the radar his last two year’s of his college career.” That alone shows how much of an idiot Scott Paluch is and shows how he treated his players.
Here's another one for ya...
Tyler Masters: Before Paluch came to BG, Tyler Masters was the best goalie BG had ever seen. Tyler broke every record there was as a goal tender for the falcons. In Tyler Masters' senior year, we watched his play considerably drop because of the coaching staff...more specifically, Scott Paluch. Again...this example is due to the horrible coaching by Paluch and Tyler was just another player who couldn't stand playing for someone who he knew didn't care about him or his play time.
95% of his players hate playing for him and have stressed to me on many occasions of how Paluch should be fired as the head coach. Paluch continues to ruin college athletes’ careers and will continue doing so until the fans and more importantly the Athletic Dept., WAKE UP and fire his ass and hire a real coach to get in there, change our program around, and to bring it back to being the power house of the CCHA.

I would not say Pooch is a horrible coach but I do agree that those players listed along with many current players do not like him on a professional or personal level. Players dont have to be best buddies with a coach but if a coach doesnt have the respect of his players as Pooch doesnt with a handful of players a team will always underachieve. eg.) See last years 12th place finish with middle of the pack talent.

Wow, and I thought people hated Dakich on the Basketball forum......
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

i never said masters was the best goalie ever. jordan sigalet is by far the best golaie i have seen play for bg but at the time masters was the best. he was a senior who had established himself and his stats prove it. he deserved to be given a fair chance his senior year and was not. sigalet was not ready to play as much as he did that year and he showed that when we were beating boston college in the christmas tournament and jordan completely gave the game away. that was masters year and paluch took it away from him because he did not like him. you have no clue what type of credibility i have. i can go on for days about how bad the coaching staff is. i guess you'll just realize it when bg continues to have losing seasons. how do you go from finishing a season with home ice advantage to last place when you supposedly have even more of your own recruits. the man is a loser and will always be. even when we had home ice we got swept because paluch could not handle the pressure and was completely out coached just like he always is and always will be. wake up people.
i have a very good relatuionship with all of the players that have played under paluch and fogarty and they have all experessed to me how bad of an experience it was playing under them. so again i have credible sources that give me this information. (and please feel free to ask any 0f the alumni that have played for him) can you say the same?

hey bgdrew. it does not matter who you beat during the season it matters how you finish the season. great they swept ohio state. big deal. what place did the falcons finish in. thats what matters! you obviously have never played a competitive sport in your entire life and you obviously have no clue what you are talking about.

I'd have to agree with you in regards to Pooch and his coaching strategies. BG really needs to get him out of there. I've watched him coach over the past four years and it really is depressing. I never thought I could ever hate watching the game of hockey until Pooch came along and took over the falcons. Pooch should've stayed a player and never a coach. If only his coaching abilities were as good as his playing abilities. I hate to see the falcons go down, but as long as they keep him in there, I don't think much will change; despite the athleticism of the players.

hey freddie nice try. i've given them inside info MANY MANY times and they just shrug it off like they know more than you when you get the info from direct sources. And people he is right about masters, i played club with roger leanord a couple years ago and even rog hated pooch. He was also friends with masters and he was trying to talk our coachs into letting masters practice with us because he had not been signed anywhere and he needed to keep his game sharp. he had not been signed anywhere because he in the writers opinion, "had a bad season." Freddie is also right that sigalet was not ready to play that year, he gave up rebounds galore, and we saw the cycle repeat itself this year when pooch kept playing spratt at the beginning of the year and the kid just struggled his ass off.

Wow!
Well, regarding Spratt, what is interesting about that situation is that he was a year older than Zatkoff (they played for same JR team) and Spratt struggled and Zatkoff played great and is rated very high for the draft. Did we not have a chance at Zatkoff, did our staff not realize his talent, is Miami that much better talent and otherwise? Of course Blasi was almost run out of town a few years ago so..who knows maybe Scott will bounce back but 2 bad coaches in row, hmmm...

Interesting math. So, 1.3 guys like him? Who's the point three? Maybe a guy's shins really like pooch and the rest of him can't stand him.freddiethefalconBG wrote: 95% of his players hate playing for him and have stressed to me on many occasions of how Paluch should be fired as the head coach.
