Janssen Patton with Montreal Alouettes

Post by UK Peregrine »

I don't know if any of you have been keeping an eye on the CFL, but Janssen looks like he'll be playing with Montreal this season. He's listed as a backup CB on the depth chart. Montreal's first regular season game is this Friday.

Janssen's listing on Montreal's website.

Thanks for sharing, UK. Good to see The General still playing. Dude has such a nose for the football.

I do follow the CFL. Mr. Patton has signed with a class organizaton, and a heckuva coach. Too bad his team will be finishing behind my beloved Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

BTW, the Ticats' home-opener is June 24 against Montreal. I think it's on the CBC for those of you lucky enough to get that fine network. Saturday, June 17 is the season opener for Toronto and Hamilton and it's on the CBC at 3pm, I think. Should be a good one...

Question on the CBC ...

Post by BGSU99 »

Professor -- Is that a station that I can get on my DirecTV sports package? I would definitely want to check that out. It's great to see former Falcons having success at the next level, even if it's not the NFL! Shoot, Michelle and I just saw Karl Rose and Marcus Allen playing for the Marion Mayhem indoor football team Saturday night! Michelle was so excited she started a thread about it!

well, what I know is we get CBC as part of buckeye cable in toledo, and I think it's part of the basic package in b.g. too. shouldn't be too hard to find. good luck! I wouldn't think it would be on DirecTV sports though. It's the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (sorry if you knew that and I just offended you), so it might be under some wacky international heading.

Back down to 8 teams. Winnipeg moves from West Division to East. Ottawa will probably be back next year. For what it's worth, even with the Ottawa situation, the CFL is probably stronger than ever. And more competitive too. It's a great game, I recommend everyone watch a game when they can, and I encourage Falcons to fly up there when the NFL dream is fading but you still want to make some $$$ playing football for some extremely appreciative fans.

I like the CFL too- wide open, only 3 downs, bigger field, points for having a good kicking game.

I bet me and professor jackson are the only people on this site who have been to the CFL Hall of Fame in Hamilton. . . .
