Hey Niz if we go with that as the name for the student section, a potential problem could be is how many current students would know that the bleacher creatures go back to the 80's. We would have to tell everyone or put a story out in the paper to let everyone know that name honors tradition. But that name is is one of my finalists. The Niz wrote:Does anyone else here really wanna see the bleacher creatures come back?
Roll Along You BG Warriors,
Roll Along and Win for BGSU!!!

Print out an "info/FYI" sheet and put in all over the student section. Include pictures and a short write up. OR better yet, get the BG News to do a feature from the past traditions at the ice arena and include that in the info sheet!!BGSU Crazy Fan 58 wrote:Hey Niz if we go with that as the name for the student section, a potential problem could be is how many current students would know that the bleacher creatures go back to the 80's. BLEACHER CREACHERS ROCK!!!
GO HOCKEY!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The bleacher creatures were not in current student section,
they were in section A. The first 3 rows wore halloween masks.
Bring it back!
If they can find someone to help with the finances, the Canada Club wants to either sell or give away "Mullet" wigs.
Pooch, Ron and Danton are going to do all they can to bring back the winning teams; we need to do our parts to help make this place rock and roll.
BTW. Over the the last year I have criticized the Administration for not supporting the program and the arena.
Last year we got new lights, this year "they" spent $ 200,000 on new boards and glass. I have heard that Buddy and the Admistration is working on projects for next year.
One atta boy to Buddy and the Administration. I would like to see them come out in a public statement as to support for the program and future projects for the arena. Just my opinion. Thank you Administration for what you have done.

Mike, since I missed that meeting with the coaches I feel like I'm slacking so my plan was actually to bug the hell out of the bgnews people until they put out a story in the paper. My ultimate goal is the front page with a HUGE headline : The Creatures Are Back! I can see it now
Yeah right girl!

I was actually referring to a meeting that Mike had set up b/w the two of us and the coaches about naming the student section at the ice arena, I missed it b/c I had to come home before I finished out the school year.Puckhead wrote:The Wednesday meeting with the coaches was pre-empted by the news conference to introduce the new AD.
When the meeting is re-scheduled, would you like to be invited?
Everyone is invited.

I'm a current student here now and I go to all of the hockey games. I would love to see a unified student section here doing traditions chants and making the Ice Arena an intimidating place for opponents to come to. I was born and raised up north in ann arbor, and i grew up to the freaks up at yost. That is the kind of energy the students here need to bring to the games. The big problem with the "new" student section over by the bench is no one knows the chants of old...and have to resort to the classless f*** montoya chants. I would love to see a BGNews article or some sort of info sheet and give it people as they walk in.The Niz wrote:Does anyone else here really wanna see the bleacher creatures come back?
This is kind of off topic, but your reference to the "f*** Montoya" chant reminded me of the best spontaneous chant I've ever heard. Several years ago at AA, Montoyo got sent to the box for a ten minute misconduct (rare to see the goalie sent off). As his penalty time got down under two minutes or so, the Yost faithful began chanting "FREE MONTOYA". Not exactly the "F" word you were refering to, but a great example of original material. I would hope that there ought to be enough intellagent and creative folks in our crowd that we wouldn't need 'crib sheets'.
