fb,

Wait until the Sebo Center is completed. The Doyt is gonna rock and with that north end all but enclosed, there will be a big time feel to the place.
I understand. Yeah, the Sebo will give the place a much bigger feel over what we've had before, most definitly. The rest of the Doyt is just so plain though. I guess I can't help but fantasize what the Doyt would look like with the Sebo and then some major reconstruction of the East & West Stand with a new South stands completely enclosing the Doty. That would give the Doyt a really big time feel. I know all that good stuff takes time and money. Hopefully new AD Greg Christopher will eventually help with that over the years.

So we should expand the stadium to 40,000 seats first...THEN worry about getting 20,000 people to come on a consistent basis?

Cool picture. My parents have a little of the old UT turf growing in their yard. Wish we stil had grass at the GB. I remember sitting just about on the C in the north end zone for a festival back in the day. Johnny Winter was the headliner and some lightening came up to close it down before he played. Fans went nuts and burned down the track pressbox. I had forgotten about that for a long time. I thinkl I still have that book of matches somewhere.... :-D

Really awesome picture! I think BG is gonna have one of the nicest stadiums in the MAC once they finish the upgrades! I hope they continue and renovate the whole thing... and get a bigger jumbotron!

No , maybe not 40,000 but atleast 30k-35k seats for now.

Again, the question is, why have a 30K seat stadium when only 19K are being used?

Nah. But in those cases they need to do what the airlines do and charge them for two seats. Two fold bonus right there, more revenue, and since you sold two tickets, higher attendance.

Nice idea but it could lead to falconboy becoming as obsessed about the size of the people in the stands as he is about the players on the field. (i.e. "we need to find some really fat guys to sit in the east stands....maybe a couple of 400lb guys to replace those 185lb guys we have now")

Keep in mind that if we had a 40,000 seat stadium, we could get a lot of better non-conference games at the doyt. If we had a 40,000 seat stadium we prolly wouldn't have to play Wisky in Cleveland and we could get some other teams in the doyt also like a Northwestern or a Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh has already played us at the Doyt. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Northwestern come before the decade is over.
