Actually, this whole hockey dialogue is very interesting. Personally, I like hearing from new people. There is nothing more tiring than hearing the same crap from the same people over and over. The best part of this whole board is getting all sorts of BG alum involved. It’s great.
There are definitely some tried and true Falcon fans out there who love to support their team through thick & thin, and that is wonderful too. But there wouldn’t be any need for fans without the teams, the players and the coaches. While everyone has been quick to jump on the new posters and clown on their spelling and grammar, the truth is, we need their opinions.
I would like to actually hear from people who played the sports and know the players and coaches through personal interaction. Their opinion actually means much more to me than someone who has never played the sport a day in their life, and spouts off opinions with nothing to back them up.
The other thing people seem to forget is that the people who have actually played BG sports recently are much, much younger than most of us. They haven’t been out in the career world for years, and their spelling isn’t what they are focused on when they turn on their computer. Some of these people want sports to actually be their career. It’s their life.
So for all the hoopla that’s been going on with both sides of the debate, I say more power to you. I am glad we have great Falcon athletic supporters (pun intended), and I am glad we have some new blood pouring in. GO BG!

My point is just that there are MANY different viewpoints I would like to hear from on this board. Not just the same people day after day, many of whom don't have a blessed clue what they are talking about.Tricky_Falcon wrote:I graduated a year ago. And I am glad to know you got your money's worth on your education and can spell and use proper grammar. I am sure there are plenty of people here who have misspelled and used poor grammar on a message board who do just fine in the real world. While you may hold yourself out to be above that, I would be willing to bet that in certain contexts even your spelling is not 100% (ie, text messages, etc.).
I am not saying that there is a whole lot of value to calling someone a "retard" and then expecting people to take you seriously. But what I am saying is that we could all stand to gain some insight about BG athletics from people who actually know what they are talking about. I am sure that people who actually played for Coach Paluch know a whole lot more about the situation than someone who has never played hockey a day in their life, let alone at the DI level.
That being said, I'm just a stupid blonde lawyer from Texas who has never played hockey a day in her life. What the hell do I know....
To the stupid blonde lawyer from Texas, BotoxLady; You make great points.
We do need more view points from more people.
I would like to see Shane and FreddieBG and/or other hockey alumni
giving actual case studies to back up their opinions. I would like to know if their stories are similar to the stories that I have heard.
Matt Messaros left to make his fortune in medical related business.

I'm not convinced that they are actually "new" posters. Too many similarities to other posters around here.Ineedbotox wrote:While everyone has been quick to jump on the new posters and clown on their spelling and grammar, the truth is, we need their opinions.
I would love to hear from former and current players. If it was/is really that bad, the players would have no problem letting the truth out. "What happens in the locker room, stays in the locker room" will only go so far for most people when they are pissed off. I would also like to hear their views on other subjects too. Something like how they view upcoming games, an analysis of their play in past games and so forth. It would be awesome to be able to see (read) how a player's mind develops throughout the season.Ineedbotox wrote:I would like to actually hear from people who played the sports and know the players and coaches through personal interaction. So far, I have not heard anything specific from the "new" posters. Everything that has came from them could have come from anyone. Everything is so general in nature that you could go on any board, in any sport, make similar claims, and get the same reactions.

The Truth!!!!
I've been reading these posts for a long time and I promised myself I would not get involved. BUT......I cannot help it. If you really want to know the truth about the coaches sit down with some of the players and you'll find out real quick! Yes, assistant coaches do end up going from school to school and job to job, but there is definitely a reason why these coaches have left so quickly. There is also a reason why Ron Fogarty has not even considered on applying or looking into other coaching jobs as well. From what I have heard it is the lack of respect Paluch and Fogarty gives out to not only the players but also to the other coaching staff. You can only take so much of the negativity as well as the lack of respect before you have to get out. I've heard that both Messaros and Dumont were treated very poorly and after a couple of years (Messaros), a year for Dumont, they just could not take it anymore.
Next, I want to see this program succeed like we did back in the 80s. We were a powerhouse and nobody could stop us. We did that with great coaching and great players. Do you remember when the program was trying to build in the late 70s? We didn't have the best of players, but we had positive coaches that could get everything out of their players in a positive fashion. When you look at how the coaching staff have coached these past four years, you can see the way they have taken the fun out of the game for these guys and replaced it with fear, the fear of making mistakes and the fear of being creative. It is like they take all the confidence away from these players and expect to succeed. According to a few players, when you make a mistake your not going to play the next game, as long as you are not Matsumoto or Svendson (outstanding players I might add). When you have a team like we did last year, we looked at least top 25 on paper, but never reached our potential, you have to start looking beyond the players and looking at the staff above them.
Lastly, we can become that powerhouse hockey team that goes to the Joe every season. We can become the National Champions again! What we have to do is look deep down inside and really look at what is going on with our program. Whether it would be to find new coaches or whatever it may be, we need to stop the bleeding. We are now 0-8 in the last four years (since Paluch started) in playoffs. We have had one .500 season, due to Jordan Sigalet (since Paluch started). We have had one 11th place finish and one 12th place finish (DEAD LAST, since Paluch started). You do the math! The program needs to change or else Bowling Green should discontinue the program all together, it's EMBARRASING!
Ask around, ask the players, ask alumni, ask anyone that is in contact with the players, it will not be a positive talk.

Re: The Truth!!!!
Actually, I did have a talk with a player, ...yesterday, as a matter of fact. And it was a VERY good talk, VERY postive about this year's team, VERY excited about this coming year's possibilities, VERY positive about the freshman class coming in and believe it or not, VERY POSITIVE regarding the coaching staff. He is anxious for this season to begin and to show everyone that last year's problems are GONE!!!! After talking with him, I am more excited than ever for the season to begin!!!tnelly7 wrote:Ask around, ask the players, ask alumni, ask anyone that is in contact with the players, it will not be a positive talk.

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

hey falcon fanatic, are you kidding me? you have the nerve to try and talk about spelling mistakes along with the rest of your clueless friends and you post something like that. did you really think that a player that is still on the team would bad mouth the coaching staff? come on now! you can not be serious with that one. try asking a few players that are alumni. see what they have to say. for all you know i just might be an alumni. what i am saying just might be true. i can understand you are all fans and thats great. BG would not be as fun as it was without all your support. i understand you guys are trying to be itive and believe in the coaches but, eventually you all have to wake up and realize that tings are not so good. i want BG to be on top in the worst way. i just do not see it happening. it was a great place to play but the coaches ruined it for most and they continue ruining something that should be such a great experience. its not fair to have all these guys that are so talented and than get shortchanged by poor coaching. if you took all the past players and recent players that have played under pauluch and fogarty and sent them to other schools i can guarantee they would have had much better careers but thats not the case. i hope i can eventually get threw to you all because i am not lying and i am as good of a source as you can possibly have on this matter.

I'm getting really sick and tired of you and your "mates" coming on this message board and alluding to being players whilst insulting everyone in sight. If you were players, no respectable athlete I have ever known at this University would ever treat their fans in this way - which is why I don't f**king believe you.
Either way, as it stands, you and your cronies are some sad excuses for human beings.

Falcon Fanatic reminded me of the time the players used to have "Hate York" parties. Those players were not his recruits.
Jerry seemed to perform rather well as a coach here at BG, no?

Does it really matter who the so called BG hockey alum is? Of course this is a message board where anyone could write BS, but when you have this much BS it starts to sound pretty damn true! That's the SAD thing! Plua, having some balls to come out and tell who this alum may be could potentially hurt his career, IF he even has one! Not only does it look bad for the bashes against Paluch and his staff, but it also looks bad if he still had teammates on the team that he enjoyed being around. You would not want your opinions to affect current players or else this whole thing with the hatred of Paluch and the staff could turn into a snowball effect. It seems to me that after reading messages day in and day out, there is a problem that needs to be FIXED! Also, if you did not think the players surf around this website and see what us fans have to say, then your an idiot! They definitely come on here all the time. I am glad that FreddietheFalcon does not show his face, and if it means anything to anyone I BELIEVE HIM!
Go Falcon's!!!
