***Alert*** Hotel Rooms in Cleveland Mostly Gone for Wisky!

Post by Falcon52 »

Fellow Falcons - I have a good friend who is a manager at the Renaissance Hotel in dowtown Cleveland and they are overbooked already for Sept. 1st and 2nd. It appears that there is a city wide convention in town that week and the hotels are full or almost full. He said that he had a block of 100 for what appears to be BG related people. Maybe the alumni association?

If you need a hotel, start looking and book today. Do not wait! If you can't find anything downtown, try the westside suburbs. Any of them should be safe and nice. You go as far west as Avon and still only be about 17 miles from downtown.

Good luck and go Falcons!

Booked rooms today for the 1st and 2nd at the downtown Embassy Suites. $101 per night! Great rate but you have to lock it in and pay NOW to get it. Go to Hilton.com, plug in the dates and select the "All Hilton Brands" at the lower left to get the Embassy Suites too. MMMmmmmm... Free cook to order breakfast....

On a side note... The new 2006 FB recruits all started classes yesterday. "Dinosaur Geology" sounds like an interesting class.... Coupled with Intro to Film studies and you'd think they were gonna film the next Jurassic Park movie!

Go Falcons!!

You may also want to try any on the hotels in Independence. It's only a 10 minute drive to downtown straight up 77, and very safe and secure. Easy access to 480, 77, 90 and the turnpike also.

After your dissertation on the size of Dick's this afternoon, you don't have to worry about that, cowboy.

hotels............

Post by Falconboy »

Welll, its a good thing I should't need a hotel for the weekend should I end up getting a ticket and all. Cleveland is a most a 2 1/2 hr drive along the turnpike from BG/Toledo area. Just gotta leave at around 7 or 8 at the latest and I could get there in plenty of time. Are people that are needing hotels from quite far places?

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Sure is a good thing my parents live in Cleveland. I might have some crash space. We'll see as it gets closer.

Until you get there and realize it's being taught by Don Steinker. That guy could make ANYTHING seem boring.

I learned a lot in my class with Dr. Steinker. I'm glad I reserved our room at the Renaissance a while ago. I had a feeling things might get tight with the Holiday weekend. Go Falcons!

Yes - Independence is a good area too.

I wouldn't stay in Bay Village, it's too dangerous. Doctor Shepherds wife got killed there by a one armed bandit. So the movie said. Just kidding, Bay Village is the picture perfect, small town USA, on the lake, with a gazebo type of place anyone would want to raise their kids in.

I live in Avon which is 17 miles from the stadium and I am getting a hotel dowtown just to party.

Just booked at the Holiday Inn Express on Euclid.

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to take the entire day off on Friday, so I'll be able to get up there have a decent late lunch, and then meet up with some folks to go on the beers.

Will be a great time.
