BG Man Gets CMU Job
This should create one hellacious catfight between the directional Michigans for in-state recruiting supremacy. Steve Hawkins at WMU has been doing a good job and EMU hired a University of Michigan assistant coach last year (who then hired an area HS coach) to beef up their local recruiting. Ziegler has coached AAU ball in Detroit and knows the region.
Of course, BG assistant LaMonta Stone has relationships, conncections and recruiting success on par or superior to any of them.
It's also interesting that Ziegler is bringing on ex-BG staffers Keith Noftz and Darren Kohne to round out his coaching staff.

CMU put Ben Poquette, Jim McElroy and Danny Roundfield in the NBA (I think Jeff Tropf got drafted too) in the mid to late 70's. I am mystified by their recent lack of success because they were one of the MAC's top programs when I was a kid.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
