Even if its not really the doyt it would be nice if it wasnt just a standard bowl stadium! I also am hoping they put our brown jerseys in the game!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

C&C had the 360 version available this afternoon and I picked it up. Pretty good so far, only played one game and lost to Toledo...the controls are drastically different than I'm used to so it'll take some getting used to.
The stadium is just a generic bowl (as it appears are all the MAC stadiums). The xbox Live marketplace has a spot for uniforms, but it doesn't appear any are available yet. Of course the game is not supposed to be out for a couple more days, so that may change soon. For now only the white & orange jerseys are available.

Played my first game online this afternoon, by activating my XBox Live trial membership. Obviously not a lot of people have the game yet, only 16 players online this afternoon.
I played as BG against OSU. Now I will admit I'm usually quite good at offense and struggle defensively in NCAA, and that held true in this matchup. I scored quite well throughout the game, but did stall on 4th down at the goalline in the first half and threw a pick at the goalline in the 2nd half. Otherwise I managed to put up 35 points on OSU's defense. The problem was I was not able to stop OSU's offense once. Actually, not even close. I think my opponent had 3 drives that were only one play. Pittman, Smith, and Gonzales are VERY good in the game, and this guy was rarely even throwing to Ginn who is also unbelievable. It didn't matter if I was going man, zone, or man with zone over the top every time he tried to throw my DBs were beaten handily. BG's DBs are very poor in the game...however, OSU's are also very poor and I was throwing at will as well. The difference was he was also able to bust off a lot of running yards, and BG's OL just couldn't stand up to OSU's DL to pound anything out.
As near as I could tell none of our new recruits are in the game. I have not started dynasty mode yet, because I'm waiting for the rosters to come available (I also have to purchase a method of transferring them onto the HDD).
Early impressions is that the game is a good time, and BG is (as I expect the real product to be) in a down year. Partridge, O'Drobinak, and Devon Parks are our "Impact Players". Partridge & Marques Parks can be studs in the passing game even though they come in at 79 & 80 respectively, both can make plays.

Well then don't buy the 360 version. I bought it today, and I can tell you unequivocally that the stadium is a generic bowl type stadium. They call it the Doyt, and have the Doyt capacity, but it is not even remotely designed to look like the Doyt.jpfalcon09 wrote:I'll be pissed if the stadium is just plain and not authentic. I'll take the un-updated Doyt over some generic looking stadium.
I imagine that the older console systems will have the similar crappy looking version that they have had in past years.
The stadiums in the new 360 version are just phenomenal, but it probably takes them a long time to create one. About half the stadiums are authentic, the others are totally generic. I think it is their goal to have all the stadiums be authentic for next year.

The 360 version is a completely new build from scratch. I'm sure it's 100% different code than what they've been using. They cannot put all that info into the game in one year.moneymaker02 wrote:This boggles me, EA had the doyt in the last four versions and that was fine for me. Why would they just delete it from their records, if they were updating the stadiums, the least they coulda done is just keep our stadium the same with the north and south bleechers still in.
Remember that the version for PS2 & Xbox has basically been in development for 6 years now, as it is using the same engine as it did way back in '02.

I plan on getting it for PS2, so hopefully it's at least the same one from years past. It'll take a few years for the next gen engines to make the game as good as it can be. I've heard conflicting reports about the 360 game, so time will tell if next gen is really all it has been made out to be. I figured the 360 version would be jammed packed of bells and whistles, I see it as more of a preview of what's to come, rather than what it is now.Well then don't buy the 360 version. I'm on another forum asking questions about BG from a guy who has the PS2 version and I'll post the answers when I receive them.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Lichtensteiger is a stud, but they have him at Center...is he moving there for real? Did I miss that?da3mite wrote:How is our o-line in the game? Rated wise?
The rest of the OL I think are in the mid to upper 70s, but I'm not sure, because I didn't examine the roster real closely yet.
I've only played 2 games. I played UT in a play now game that I lost by 10 points, and I played the online game against OSU. I'm still getting used to the control scheme, and I don't know the 360 controller as well as I did the old ones yet. I still sometimes hit the wrong button when passing, etc. My impression in those games is that the OL struggles in run blocking, but they're good enough for pass protection. They did struggle against blitzes, though.
As far as I know, he's playing center. Some of the national previews have him ranked pretty high amongst centers, too, I think, which was impressive for someone that's moving over there for the first time.hammb wrote: Lichtensteiger is a stud, but they have him at Center...is he moving there for real? EDIT: Screw "national preview mags", he's on the Rimington watch list.
