Will Anthony Glaud be the starting QB against Wisconsin?

Discussion of the Falcon football team.

Yep, he's been benched for that game, and that is all. Which brings us back to the other guys quote, if he isn't better than AT, then why burn his redshirt for one game, a game that doesnt mean much (sure it would be nice to beat them, but it is OOC, therefore probably the 9th most important game on our scedule). I hope to never see a true freshman start at QB, unless they are like a rediculous 5 star type player....ecspecially since we got Hunter and Barnes that could step in for that game and if AT gets hurt.
Thanks VA. I will add on to that.

The point is that even if Glaud, or Sheehan for that matter are better than Barnes or Hunter we can't play Glaud or Sheehan for the first game. To burn their redshirt year for a game would be foolish. Now if Glaud or Sheehan are better than Anthony Turner then by all means play them...and play them the rest of the year. The only way the frosh play is if they are in some form of competition for the entire year.

I missed the very important "for one game" part, thus my misunderstanding and mistake. Sorry about that.

That mistake aside, I totally agree. The coaches are right to say it's a wide open battle right now, but I think it's safe to assume that it's Turner's year with Barnes backing him up. I certainly wouldn't bet against it.

As impressed as I am with the credentials of Sheehan and Glaud, IMO, I can't see either of them playing this year with the exception of severe injuries to the QB corps. I think Barnes gets the start and AT is the man after that...unless Barnes is sooooooooo awesome in summer camp and vs Wisky that it creates a QB controversy. I don't know why some are quick to write off AT. I've been watching all the games on tape from last year (Thanks to Flipper for the ones on BCSN!!) and when AT was in, his speed running the ball keeps jumping out at me. Sure he needs work but AT is gonna be a hell of a QB IF he keeps his nose to the grindstone. His passes were exceptionally tight spirals in the game footage I've been watching.

Flip,
I agree with you about Charles and Davis. Nothing against Partridge, Parks or Ruiz but, unfortunately, they don't have the blazing speed. Brandon Jones and Kenneth Brantley do have that speed but they're both 5th YR SR's that haven't seen much action. What does that say?

47 days....just 47.... :smt041 :smt109

Because, for one thing AT needs a better backup than Barnes anyway if he's indeed the starter after Wisky. AT has not shown me so much that I can not see him being passed by a true freshman at this point. AT should be better than a Glaud or Sheehan but I really doubt if he is.

After reading tekini's posts in another thread, falconboy's posts about falcon football seem extremely positive. :P

I'll take that bet. I don't anticipate that the coaching staff will make them wear blindfolds while they're standing on the sidelines in their track suits.
