Although regardless, I think "OTIS MY MAN!" shirts are a must. "Polk's Posse", perhaps?
(not that I have a problem with the middle initial thingy if it pans out, of course...

Mental toughness is just as important, and I'd argue even MORE important, than physical toughness. Germain (no e) Fitch screwed up...commonsense wrote:"Matt's the toughest kid I've seen play here since John."
- What makes Matt so tough? Is it his ability to get big time baskets in the clutch? Is it his determination to carry his team on his back when in need? Is it his tenacious rebounding? Or is it the faces he makes when he plays? If you are calling him tough because he plays with flat feet, then at least consider Germaine Fitch, a guy who just kept coming back and coming back after 4 ACL tears. I think he has shown a little more toughness than Matt, in my opinion. Germaine played through pain, in addition to carrying the team when needed and scoring baskets in the clutch. Don't confuse goofy faces for toughness.

What? Matt isn't just playing "on flat feet". From what I understand, the kid is running on the bones of his feet. That's got to be as painful as hell. Unlike you, I'm not going to be a classless dick and try to diminish what Germain did to pump up Matt's toughness...but I think playing evewry night on feet most people would struggle to walk on is pretty goddamned tough.commonsense wrote:"Matt's the toughest kid I've seen play here since John."

I remember the "Flo-mobile" as we called it from my days at BG. I believe it was a red firebird but I definitely recall the FLO 1 license plate. That was one bad ride.ZiggyZoomba wrote:I remember John Flowers. One of my earlier Falcon memories actually! Didn't he survive childhood polio? I think he drove either a firebird or a camaro too, and as an 11 or 12 year old, I thought he was SO cool because of that!Redwingtom wrote:What about McDonald's HS All-American Dan Raup?
Serioiusly, my favorite BiG man of all time was John Flowers.
Dan Raupp and Scott Kalish were a dominant guard/big-man combo, weren't they?
