Discussion of the Falcon football team.

your right we paid something to the tune of 87k to rent the stadium, and that was prior to the game being moved to 7pm and I will assume that the lights fee is being paid by espn. concessions do not come to us . SO simple real simple math
87/ticket sale avg of what 30 bucks = 2900 ticket sales.
we are all guessing that we will have near 30k at the game and thats 900,000 bucks.
dont know what the split is with WI and what the actuall ticket break down is...as I said real simple math.

Discounting the status of either/any program, it is a much better deal to play a 1 for 1 series with a BCS school while hosting your home game in your own stadium then hosting your 'home' game in a stadium 125 miles away. Period. There is no arguing this topic.
Really?

I don't think you can discount the status of the programs and just slap BCS on all of them ignoring both their prowess and their position in the college football landscape. Is USC the same as Indiana? In terms of perception and PR, is Duke lacrosse just another NCAA lacrosse program? These factors are not so easily discounted.

It is equally silly to pretend Cleveland is just some distant outpost 125 miles away and not one of the epicenters of BGSU alumni presence and activity, not to mention the fact that Cleveland Browns Stadium is slightly more unique type of venue to hold such a contest.

This self-loathing, grass-is-greener mentality over everything is amazing.
I'm pretty much with Joe Falcon here.

Hosting Colorado at Doyt Perry Stadium would be great, but the Wisconsin game we have is great too, and the Minnesota game we have is great, too.

On a side note: I get the feeling ticket sales are *not* going well for Cleveland. And my tickets haven't arrived yet. :(

This is a false premise.

We did not give up a Wisconsin game in our own stadium to play Wisconsin in Cleveland.

The only way to get Wisconsin to play us in Ohio was to do it in Cleveland.

What Colorado chooses to do is not evidence of what Wisconsin would do.

Wisconsin sold out last season, averaging 82,000-plus per game.

Colorado averaged about 50,000, which is about what Minnesota did.

I didn't say we gave up a game at the Doyt against Wisc. I am saying we gave up a home date to play in Cleveland. I would rather play a BCS team willing to come into BG (Indiana, Missouri, Pitt, etc.) then play a bigger BCS team at a neutral site.
