Yeah DD, I saw Kelly's name pop up the other day and was happy to see it. He's had a very rough season and it's nice to see him heating up. Hopefully he'll be able to continue this recent streak. BTW, here's the press release for Kelly being named Eastern League Player of the Week.

Erie SeaWolves first baseman Kelly Hunt has been named the Eastern League's Player of the Week for the week ending July 2nd. The 25-year old had an outstanding week for the SeaWolves, hitting .360 (9-for-25) with three doubles, five home runs, 10 RBI, six runs scored and a 1.080 slugging percentage in six games. Hunt, a native of Bowling Green, Ohio, had four multiple hit games last week, including a pair of multiple home run games. The 6'5", 240 lb. slugger was especially impressive in Erie's 13-0 win against the Reading Phillies at First Energy Stadium on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with three home runs, seven RBI and three runs scored. Kelly, who is currently ranked seventh in the league in home runs (12), was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 29th round of the June 2003 draft out of Bowling Green State University after batting .439 with nine homers and 61 RBI in 45 games for the Falcons.

Hunt's Batting Line for the week ending July 2, 2006:
G Avg. AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R SB BB SLG%
6 .360 25 9 3 0 5 10 6 0 0 1.080

Hunt's Batting Line for the season:
G Avg. AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R SB BB SLG%
57 .205 205 42 8 0 12 28 19 0 7 .420

Kelly and the Erie Seawolves are in Akron for a series with the Aeros. We went to Canal Park last night and watched Akron sweep a DH 6-5 & 7-4. Kelly went 1 for 3 in Game 1 and 0 for 3 in Game 2. The Freaklings and I got to meet him between games and I told him to check out this site so he can see how folks keep tabs on former players.
Good to see Kelly playing.

Has Kelly been with the Seawolves? I ask cuz I just bought MLB '06 The Show for PS2 and have been playing a Tigers franchise. I don't remember Kelly Hunt being on the Erie's roster but I never did look too hard. Wow Nook Logan is down to AA? I been wondering where to put that guy.

Yay for my hometown team! The Seawolves play in a beautiful park. I got to play there for some all-star games back in HS and The Uht is about as nice as it gets for AA parks. One of my friends also diddled the mascot a couple years later. Good times.

Man, if only I could go back to '82. I know we'd win state.

I bet I could throw a football over them mountains. IF only coach had put me in. LOL

I've been to concerts at Erie Civic Center in the past and the ballpark does look great.

Canal Park is really a beautiful stadium. All brick on the outside and just a great place to see a game.
