ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!

Post by ChicagoFalcon »

Buffalo has an endowment of over $500 million! I never would have known this with they're team being so weak! I know that has nothing to do with that but it's the pre-conceived notion of successful sports programs in relation to the value or available resources of a school! I think we're a very successful athletic organization, but our endowment is only at about $50 mil

Brown has an endowment of $2 billion.

What's your point?

It's called being interested...why does the smallest crap bother people? There is no point behind it.

Buffalo is a SUNY school, with a med and a dental school. Why wouldn't you think it has a big endowment. The fact that it is in one of the most populated states should also clue you into the fact that they should be funded well and able to invest it wisely.

Arguing about who's endowment is bigger sounds kinda gay... Unless there's a good looking woman around.

Pretty sure here that the oddball out is NIU. I'm not sure if they had some poor investments in the past or just really started that far behind everyone else, but they are significantly lagging behind other MAC schools. Granted, none of this is really relative to having a MAC affiliation or football, but I guess its a way to classify them. Unlike annual donations, gifts for endowments are retained and invested to provide ongoing support for educational purposes on behalf of the university. Harvard is at the pinnacle at 25 billion in their endowment fund.

Endowments in millions (+/- a couple of million):
1. Buffalo - 537
2. OU - 200
3. WMU - 137
4. Miami - 112
5. Ball State - 90
6. BG - 58
7. CMU - 52
8. Kent - 48
9. Akron - 47
10. EMU - 42
11. UT - 35
12. NIU - 2

Most of these values came from the US News college rankings report for 2006.

* Edit * Sorry I mispoke previously. I said USA Today, meant to say US News.

Don't insult your own team....sock puppet.

You are at least learning how to make it look like you could be a BG fan.

OK...how did I insult BG? We're not at 2 Billion, but 50+Mil in endowment...I'm just stating facts not inflating them because I like BG.
